Further Adventures in Gloucester

Hullo... yes we are back at the cathedral... we split off from Rose and her mom this morning and are now waiting for them to arrive...

Maybe we could have a snack... except... all we have is one small mandarin!

Seriously... we need to rethink the caterer on this trip!

Nice dark clouds gathering... hope it doesn't rain on us!

And we're in! This time we went on the upper walkway and found a cool area where you can make your own gargoyle face... Rose went to work...

Hmmm... definitely scary!

Maybe we should try one?

There we go!

Leo found a family portrait tile on the floor...

And I found a fleur-de-lis for Ben!

Otto couldn't find anything he liked...

Nor could Little Fox... although we did try.

Nice windows...

And a long way down...

Of course we had to go back to the cloister walk so Rose could recreate some of the HP scenes filmed here... We all volunteered to be the mountain troll but she thought we were all a bit small and not at all scary enough. Hmph!

Right then... here we are again...

Listen to my voice... we... will... eat... here... toooodaaayyyy!

Yes!! It was a seriously yummy meat pie! Although the carrots were beary... limp...

After the cathedral, we wandered down to the docks... we spotted a neat drain cover for Beanie!

This area used to be all warehouses but has now been souped up to chic restaurants and apartments...

We dared Rose to lift that big round metal ring... she did it but it took a bit of muscle!

Nice... that they kept the old buildings...

At the end, there were some undeveloped old warehouses - neat!

Turns out you can rent a long skinny canal house boat for day trips - that would be neat... Can sleep up to 10 people... so we'd need a big group to make it worthwhile.

We then came to the River Severn... and crossed over.

To have walk in some wildness...

There were lots of birds out...

And some flowers... we kept our eyes out for bees... but no luck...

On our way to the bus station, we passed this cool wall sculpture...

We think this one says... give little bears cookies and take them for train rides!

We got into London late and fell into bed again.

  1. Beary cool! Glad you had a substantial lunch instead of that tiny mandarin!

    1. I've been trying to advocate for adequate stuffie nutrition on this trip and am succeeding pretty good I think.

  2. The lunches look amazing. Especially that neat pizza a few posts ago.
