The BearBnb Washing Chamber

OK, so this next room really has nothing for any self-respecting stuffie. We don't need to shower or sit on the throne... or wash our paws (really... we don't)... But there is one thing in here that is useful to stuffies! Stick with me!

The bathroom is small but it has everything your human will need... a shower, toilet and sink... along with a few extra amenities.

It's always fun taking pictures in here because... do you see? I am in the reflection in the mirror!!

There's extra toilet paper... lots of hand towels and facecloths and...

There's even a curling iron, hair straightener and a blow-dryer.

The blow dryer can sometimes be useful for stuffies after a rainy hike... or if they lost their balance along the edge of the lake...

There's also some reading material...

And under the sink, we have a "Did you Forget" basket with various toiletries and things... mostly for humans...

There was one thing in the basket that was useful for stuffies... did you see it?

Oh, and there is a First Aid Kit under here as well...

Along with extra bathmats... although... the thing in the "Did You Forget" basket should really be in a Stuffie First Aid Kit...

It's a little sewing kit with needles and thread!! Because, as any good stuffie knows... if you don't catch a wound early... it will get exponentially worse! Better to stitch it up!

A Beary Special Section of the Welcome Book in Sandy's Bearbnb

Hullo! Today... I am going to show you our Welcome Binder... aka... the House Manaul. It is a beary important part of any Bearbnb and tells guests how to operate appliances, where to find different things, etc.

Ours has expanded over the years as we've added more and more sections. We have a section for kids... and another one with things to do and places to go. But today... I am going to show you the BEST and MOST IMPORTANT section...

Yes... Is is the Section for the Young at Heart! And it's all about...

.... MEEEEEE!!!!

There's a whole section on who I am and pics of me on some of my adventures...

I mean... any visiting stuffies need to know who their host is, right?

Then there is a section on Sandy's Selfie Chair... where visiting stuffies can get a selfie with Yours Truly (that would be me!). And another page explaining the Travel Journal stamp... and how to get their stuffie passport stamped...

And finally, there's a section on the BookCrossing books...

Can you think of any other sections I should include in the Welcome Binder? I want stuffies to feel welcome!

Chilling in Sandy's Bearbnb

Hullo!! Let me show you the living room, where our guests like to chill and hang out.

It's really quite nice in the early morning sunshine. So bright and cheery.

The couch is uber comfortable. Can you imagine how many stuffies could fit on this couch?? Scads!!!!

And there are two other chairs so we can have an excellent conversation across from each other.

We could also watch TV... if there was a Stuffie channel... which I haven't come across yet.

And then... under the TV... we have...

Games, lots and lots of games!!

There are some magazines to read too. Again... why is there no stuffie magazine?

And right now... the view out the window is full of blooming rhodos. Sooo pretty.

It might not be a big living room... but it is a cozy one. Perfect for vacationing stuffies (and their humans... if you have to bring them along... and sometimes you do).

A Beary Special Type of Garden

Soooo... this is the view out the second bedroom window. It would normally not be a beary pretty view as it's under the deck but... with a bit of coaxing from this little bear... the humans actually made it something quite pretty...

Let's get a closer look outside... it's a...

Fairy & Gnome Garden! With a dry riverbed!

There are lots and lots of gnomes (or are they elves?).

And fairies of various types. Don't ask me... the taxonomy of fairies and gnomes is beary complicated. Is it a woodland sprite? Or a pond nymph? Noooo idea!

There are lots of things to see... even some fossils and cool rocks and... a moose jawbone...

Some odds and ends from the coal mining days...

And more fairies!

Plus a whole superhero section. And matchbox cars. Most of which were dug up during archeological excavations (=digging garden beds).

A whole little village of painted stone houses.

And a random pig chillaxin' along the dry riverbed!

This is a new addition... a mouse sleeping on a crescent moon!

Kids (and stuffies) love the view out the second bedroom window... so much to see.

Sandy's Bearbnb - Garden Tours Available

Did I mention this in another blog post? Hmmm... I can't remember....

Yes! We got certified as Wildlife-Friendly Habitat by the Canadian Wildlife Federation. Pretty cool, eh? That' mostly based on having diverse native food sources, water sources and habitat for things like birds, bugs, bees (!!), etc.

As a Bearbnb host, I love to give tours of the garden. Come on in!

Here's our massive blueberry bush! Unfortunately... it tends to provide a lot of food for the local birds and not so much for us! Hence... wildlife friendly. Sigh.

And down here, we have our big long raspberry patch... which does provide food for the humans! And the bees love the flowers, and make honey... I just haven't found the hive yet.

We have lots and lots of flowers... the bees love it!

Here we have some of the veggie beds. The tall green things are the garlic we planted in November. We put straw on the beds to conserve moisture. There are beets and lettuces seeded in the other bed.

Have you ever had beet-potato salad? Yum!!!

The greenhouse will have tomatoes soon but was still a bit too early when this pic was taken.

And over here... we have potatoes in the near bed and some green onions in the far one (along with kale seedlings).

Our old kale plants from last year, we dig out and then pop into random spots around the yard so they can flower and attract... oh wait... do you see it???

It's a beeeeeeee!!! Mid-left side!! On the flower with the wood behind it...

Seeeeeee!!! The bees love the kale and it's an early-ish flower so it feeds them nicely.

More flowers here... the tulips are just starting to finish.

And the rhodos are just starting... at least ours are. Some other ones in the neighbourhood are already finishing!

And there we go... there is one last section of the "garden" to show you but... I'll leave that for next week's post... stay tuned!
