Rain Day

Sigh.... deep tremulous little bear sigh...

Oh hullo... it is raining out there. It seems like it's been raining for a beary long time. And it's supposed to rain for the next six days. Maybe I should build a boat? Or dig out the kayak?

I got my rain gear on and told Mama I was going to go outside and dig out the kayak from under the deck.

As I was heading out, she reminded me that under the deck was a beary dirty place... with lots of mud....

Maybe I'll just stay inside for a while longer... I can always use a rubbermaid container as a boat!

Mama tried to cheer me up by telling me that while she was in Vancouver last weekend... I know... I didn't  get to go... she picked a little something up for me!

I had to turn around and close my eyes... and then... Ooooh!!!

Beary nice!!! A new outfit!!

I can stay toasty warm in this while I sit and watch the rain crawl down the window panes. Sigh...

Errr... hmmm... try that again! There we go! It is beary dark now at 6 a.m. Ah-hem...
Sandy Bear here, reporting from the window. Last night it started to rain just a little bit... but this morning, it really started to come down. This is excellent news since we really need the rain!

A New Outfit

Hullo! Most of you know that I am a little winter bear and most of my outer jackets are winter parkas... green parka... red parka. But I no longer live in a super-cold climate and parkas don't work very well here... Well today, Mama came home with a surprise for me!

What is it?? What is it?? Lemme see!!! Oooohhh....

It's a rain coat and hat!!! Mama says she found them at a second-hand store. I guess whatever other bear was wearing them didn't need them anymore... either that or there is a naked bear running around looking for his coat and hat!

It's a little worn around the edges but it fits me perfectly!! It's hard to find clothes that fit me proper... it's even harder to get clothes made to fit me proper! (Yes, the tailored Vietnam wardrobe is coming soon... )

I think this is Mama's best find yet!! Now I can go out in the rain and not get soaking wet! Now if only I had some rubber boots...

It was a dark and stormy night...

Our first Pacific Frontal System moved through last night. This is the radar map... we are right in the middle of the big yellow blog. And the wind was up to 90 km/h (that is 60 km/h for non-metric folk!).

 Sandy wanted to go outside... of course... But it was a dark and stormy night... there he is right in front of the red arrow.

 Oh wait... there he is!! It was pouring rain and blowing hard and Sandy quickly decided that dark and stormy nights were not so much fun.

 Better to scamper back inside...

And dry out in front of the wood stove... ahh... that's better!

 And snuggle up with a good book in front of the fire, snuggled in a nice warm blanket. He's liking the Life of Pi but wonders why there aren't any bears in the story!

Mama's finished the book today and Sandy has been enthralled with it.... although now he wants to go and see the movie... demanding little bear!
