Visiting Grampa's Grave

We went up to the cemetery to visit Grampa's grave. Gramma has been busy tending it over the summer and added some marigolds.

It looks beary nice. Still hard to believe he's gone.

Gramma usually comes up once a week to tend the flowers.

On the way home, we stopped to do some shopping and I found these cool building murals! Do you see the beeees on the fireweed!!!?

There is going to be LOTS of fireweed in BC next year - so many forest fires this year.

And we saw this one too!!!

And then we helped Gramma do some cooking... is it salmon?!

Noooo... it's apples! For apple juice... sigh.

No salmon??... sniff....

I asked Gramma if we were having salmon for dinner...

Errrr... nooooo...

We are having chicken!

I am putting in an order for salmon!!! And I hope Gramma comes through!

While the salmon... er... chicken was cooking... I worked on a puzzle...

Well, I guess it looks yummy...

And it was yummy! But... salmon!!! I am a grand-bear not a grand-fox!!!!

A Visit to Gramma!

Well, mice or no mice, we are enroute to visit Gramma! Sorry Cocoa and Navy... hope you are enjoying the Okanagan!

Our flight is on time but turned out to be packed like sardines!!!

But we made it!!! Gramma was beary happy to see us!! Especially me, because I am her favourite grand-bear!!

Does Gramma have salmon for her favourite grand-bear??? Nope... watermelon!

I do hope there is some salmon in the forecast though!

We went for a little hike while Gramma napped. This garden has corn!!!

I like corn!!

Let's see what we can find along here.

Hmm... very marshy here!

Found a painted rock!

Beary nice!

Beary pretty here.

And I hadn't been here more than 10 seconds and the ducks were there!

But I had nothing sooo... they quickly took off! Hmph... fickle creatures.

But this is obviously a place where people feed the ducks. This note tells people not to feed them bread or crackers cause it's not good for them!!!

Whew... what a long day!! As Beanie would say... exhaustipated!!

Where are the Mice?

Sooo... as you may recall after we got back from Mexico in late December, Cocoa and Navy decided to stay in Vancouver with Dwarf Beanie but... I can't find them anywhere.... so Sherlock Sandy put on his cap and went on a hunt! Oh, there's Kiwi!!

So good to see you!!!! But do you know where the mice are??

"I haven't seen them for a while actually... but they are easy to miss."

Ummm... those two mice might be small, but they are not "easy to miss"!!

I asked this bear (cause dragons can be a bit spinny sometimes) but he had no clue what I was talking about, being new to the household!

This is harder than I thought!

Wait... what's this... a postcard!! I recognize this card!! I received one from Beanie Mouse too!!

Well, at least I know that they mice have been here!

Oooohh... a mouse!!! Hi mouse!!

Maybe mouse knows... where are Cocoa and Navy Beanie??

"Oh those two!! Well... you know... we hung out for the longest time but then... now that you mention it... I haven't seen them for... oh... I guess about a month. I thought maybe they went back home?"

"But... let's see... a month ago... that would have been about the time that Lexy arrived..."

Uh-oh...

Lexy... do you know...

Oh heck, she's such a bubble head puppy you can't get any sense out of her. And she's giving me the eye...

I got Mama to distract Lexy while I went and checked out her play area... and it was not pretty... A mauled cow... who hasn't seen any mice...

A tattered bunny! Who ran as soon as I approached, whimpering with fear. Ugh!

Could it be? Is it possible that Cocoa and Navy were... umm... seen as dog toys???

If found a coherent flying squirrel but he's new to the household too... and hasn't seen any mice...

I am going to have to confront Lexy and get her to focus...

From a distance mind you... Lexy... have you eaten the mice???

And she lunged at me!!!

Right then... more investigation required...

Cause this does not look good!!!

I dug deeper and found this stuffed duck.

Maybe the duck knows something?

GASP!!!! It's a decapitated duck!!!!

Honestly, I'm terrified for those two mice!!! And then I heard a voice going "Psssstt... bear!"

What's this??? A hand puppet??

"Yo, bear... you lookin' for those mice?"

Yes!!! Do you know where they are???

"Raahhhhhhh!!! They were eaten!!!"

Noooooooooo!!!!! Say it isn't so!!!

"Nah!!! Just pulling your leg!!!! heheh..."

Oh, you've got to be kidding me!!!! Well where are they then???!!!

"I heard they went with Rose for a trip to the Okanagan!!! They are soaking up some sunshine!"

Oh, well... that's a huge relief!! Although... they could have left me a note or sent a postcard or something!!! Hmph... mice... But... whew!!!!
