The Stuffie Winter Olympics!

Hullo!! It's the Stuffie Olympics! Many thanks to Ajdin for coordinating it (again) this year! We have two entries this year! Let's see what our contestants are up to... well... our contestant!

Speed Skating

Alright folks... we're here in front of the Olympic oval for the Stuffie Speed Skating Event!

As we know, maintaining ice conditions at the Olympic Oval is a challenge, with so many sports taking place.

Let's go take a look at the ice...

Yep, just as a I feared... the temperatuer conditions are a bit warm today, but let's hope for the best...

Sandy Bear... any words for our viewers?

Sandy: Um... well... just that I'm going to do my best... you know balance and speed are not innate stuffie traits... so I've trained hard for this one!

Sandy's off to an excellent start so far, skating into position at the starting line... 

And they're off!!! Sandy's off to a fast start (for a stuffie)...

He's on his second lap and doing well... but watch out for that slushy patch!!

And he's on the third and final loop... will he make it???

Yes!!! Sandy crosses the finish line in record time!! Great job Sandy!!! Any words for our viewers???
Sandy: View... *gasp*... just... *wheeze*... I'm glad I maintained my balance and didn't let the ice conditions affect my concentration!

Figure Skating

Alright folks... next up we have the figure skating competition!! Not always a natural fit for stuffies but Sandy is going to give it a try. Er... interesting costume Sandy... dare we guess what music you are skating to?

Sandy: Well... obviously... It's the Nutcracker Suite!!!

And Sandy is off... skating beautifully so far... and he's gathering speed...

He's going to attempt something never done before at the Stuffie Winter Olympics... A Triple-Sow-Cow-Axel followed by a Quad-Lutz combo!!!

And there he goes... Look at that height!

And he lands the Triple-Sow-Cow-Axel and now... can he managed the Quad-Lutz??

And yes!!! He's done it!!! Way to go Sandy!!!

Great job Sandy!!! Any words for our listeners... er... viewers??

Sandy: I'm just speechless... I've been practicing this for minutes and to have it come together like this, during competition... well... it's just an honour for me to compete in the Stuffie Olympics!!!

Stuffie Winter Olympics Winners!

Today we are judging the Stuffie Winter Olympics contestants! Finally.... the deadline came and went weeks ago but we are beary busy stuffies and... wait... who wrote that? No... the human is beary busy!!! Hmph... 

Anyhow... we are ready!! Let's take a look at the entries...

First up, we have two entries from Little Fox. Normally it's only 1 entry per stuffie household but... we only had two contestants sooo... made an exception! We can do that... cause we are stuffies!

Little Fox's first entry is Winter Chillin'. Last summer, Team France (Ben) entered the Summer Chillin' event and did a stellar job. A bit more challenging in the winter since it's much colder on stuffie bottoms. Check out Little Fox's blog for a video of the event! Excellent job!

Little Fox also entered the Winter Tracking competition... this is a tricky event. But LF and Sequoia came through and got a super view of Mount Hood. Great work athletes!!

"And... for our third and final entry... we have Ajdin with Winter curling!"

We are seriously impressed that a stuffie like Ajdin could both throw the rock and sweep it as well! And with a toothbrush, no less. The shot was a good one as well, a testament to the skill of the skip!

The judges are now conferring... this is tricky... each competitor did such a good job... how will the judging go?

Looks like the judges have made their decision... let's hear what they have to say...

4) Gold, silver, and bronze medal winners will be awarded!

Oh, there's a note... What does it say?

Oh, well that makes sense now!!! We entered the Stuffie Summer Olympics ages ago!! And Ajdin did post the results a few weeks ago... And we did win GOLD for the Waterfall Barreling competition.

But... says Cocoa... how come YOU get the prize??? I mean... there was me and Otto tooooooooo!!!! Is it because we are small??? Or is this bearism???? Do I need to go on strike???

This is a quandary isn't it??? (And a Cocoa strike is NOT a good idea!!)... But as a good team captain, I have a solution!! We will rotate the prize! The envelope was addressed just to me... because I'm the team captain... right! Sooo... the first rotation of the prize goes to Cocoa!!

Hooray!!! Oh, that all makes sense now!! Although... how come you ALWAYS get to be team captain?? Hmph.... Sizism.. that's why... and bearism... hmph!!! But I love my new pin!! Thanks Ajdin!!!

Stuffie 2022 Winter Olympics

 Hullo!!! Soooo... you know how in his Christmas cards, Sandy was doing the snow incantation?? Well... it worked... in spades... This was taken on the morning of December 24... just a few inches on the ground but...

The flakes are falling fast and furious!

Which is perfect.... because we have a beary big announcement to make!

And the flakes kept coming... this was Christmas Day evening... Mama had already shoveled the driveway three times!

And... there we go... more snow!!!

Never question the the power of Stuffie Intentions! Let's get suited up!

First though... we are going to measure the sled... it is 15" from tip to toe... and 12" from the bottom to the top of the wood bit... Got that?? OK... let's go!

Alrightee... we are ready...

Ooohhh... ahhhh... normally we get our big dump of snow in February.

Cocoa is not sure about this... having much less in the way of winter garb than a certain well-kitted out little bear!

Carry me????

OK... we are out in the mass of snow... the question is... how deep is it? Is it deep enough for winter sports??

It's hard to tell... let's drop the bear in...

Wait!!! No!!! Not me!!! Drop in the sled... sheesh....

Errr... OK then... the snow is probably 14" deep....

Definitely deep enough for winter sports!

And luckily a stuffie can sit on the snow without sinking in...

See, Cocoa, not so bad, eh??? ....

Right then... this snow is very fluffy... could we have a bit of shovel work?
