Canadian Thanksgiving!

Hullo... we had our thanksgiving feast a few weeks ago... it's requires a lot of supervision from this little bear. Oh... and before I forget...

DROOL ALERT!!!

Can you guess what's under the foil? I'll let you drool a bit thinking about that.

Here we have some broth ready to make some yummy gravy...

I'm not sure what's going on with this bowl... cause we have some visitors...

 It's Rose!!!

And she and her Dad are making a surprise for us...

 I wonder what it is? It's gone into the oven...

While we were waiting, I put Rose to work shredding some papers... gotta make the young work for their dinner you know!

Ummm... can you tell yet?

And now we're making some whipped cream... whew... this is hard work!

And I think we're finally ready... here's the turkey and potatoes!

With stuffing of course!

Now, I know you'd all like a step-by-step look at each part of the meal but... not going to get it! The mystery concoctions made by Rose and her Dad were... Yorkshire Puddings! And very good ones too with that yummy gravy!!

Then there was pumpkin pie for dessert...

Yummmm....

Rose is being silly! She shared her last piece with me!

Canadian Thanksgiving

Hullo! Chef Sandy here... we had Canadian Thanksgiving last weekend. We debated getting a turkey but...

... in the end, the carnivores won out!! (Of course we did!)

It's just a little turkey... and the yellow potatoes are ours....

We made a bunch of extra stuffing too... mmmm!!

There we go!! Turkey is ready! Are you drooling... oh wait... did I not put a drool warning on this blog post? Oops!

Oh well... drool away!

OK... mountain of dishes are done...

And I am stuffed!!! Time to chill and relax with Spooky!

Gratitude!

Let me see... Thanksgiving usually has a cornucopia... but we don't have one... so this will have to do!

1. Grateful for a year of adventures.

2. Grateful for all the new blog pals that I made and the fact that I got to meet one of them for real (Beanie) and got mail from the rest!

3. Grateful for living in a great country with great neighbours.

4. Grateful for a Mama who takes me on all sorts of adventures.

5. Grateful for Gramma who fixed my pants super-good.

6. Grateful for mail - post cards, letters, cards, packets, packages, parcels - doesn't matter, grateful for any bit of it!

7. Grateful for a warm wood fire on a cold, power-failed night.

8. Grateful for an injury free year - no serious falls, no guts spilled, no rips, no tears (except for the pants of course).

9. Grateful for the freedom to travel!

10. Grateful for... fresh air and sunshine and green trees and blue water and eagles soaring and fish jumping and deer leaping and cougars running!

Sandy wants to wish all his American friends (especially Jerry & Ben and Buttons) a Happy American Thanksgiving!!

This was the closest thing Sandy could find that would reflect Thanksgiving up here in Canada... various squashes! Everywhere else, everything is decorated for Christmas!
