Crafting with Rose

Sooo... we did a lot of swimming adventures with Rose but... we also played games (UNO - Rose is a card shark), and started watching the Marvel movies in timeline order (Captain America, Captain Marvel, Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Thor, Avengers, Thor: Dark World, Iron Man 3, Captain America: Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy...) Whew... And, on top of that... Rose wanted to share some crafting with us - she makes friendship bracelets!

That's a LOT of thread!!

The bracelet making involves a cardboard disk and 7 threads...

And you do some magic and... a bracelet gets spit out the bottom. Where'd she learn this... TikTok...

She showed Mama how to do it and I ordered a bracelet for myself... I just needed to pick out colours...

I think I got it!!

Mine's going to be green!

Here it comes!!

Rose made one for Otto...

These are some of the ones Rose has finished - she's really fast!

Otto's is done already because (a) he has a smaller forearm and (b) Mama is slower and Rose is faster!

Seee... nice colours...

But... mine was ready pretty quick too...

The green matches the green on my shorts and hat!

Now we both have friendship bracelets to seal the friendship!

Rose is also working on a couple of other ones... a blue one... for a stuffie pal... and a red one for another pal. She says we could turn them into belts too... if they were long enough... That might work better for the more petit stuffie pals...

Crafty Cocoa Beanie

***editor's note - yes we are all caught up and are now blogging in real time!***

'allo!! Cocoa Beanie here! We are crafting today. Sandy's mom has a bunch of old cards and... we are going to repurpose them. This must be a Beanie Family thing...

Here we have a lovely Happy Birthday card from Droopy W. Dog...

But Droopy didn't write on the inside of the front flap so we cut that away...

And are going to stick it onto some cardstock... We just need more than "white" cardstock... Sandy's working on that...

And see... here's another Droopy creation... they are just too nice to leave languishing in a drawer somewhere... But need to be sent out into the world again to bring joy to some other stuffie!

And we're going to use these little double-stick bits to hold them down...

Yo, Sandy, how's it going with that cardstock??

Oh, it's going! There's a huge stack here but I'm still trying to find some good colours...

Oh... I see some colours...

Honestly... who needs this much cardstock???

Right then... now we line up the cardstock and use the fancy slicer/dicer to cut it to the right size...

Or rather get the human to work the slicer/dicer... I might lose a few toes if I do it myself!

And then it gets folded... into a card shape...

Double check that the picture fits... and...

Stick the sticky tags on the back... except... we need fingernails to pull the backing off...

Fingernail person... do the honours...

***editor's note... stuffies sure can be bossy***

And voila... we have a new card ready to go!

Actually, a whole pile of cards ready to go!! Cool...

Now someone just needs to clean up the sticky tag bits...  there's always a mess after crafting!

Crafting Bear... sort of...

Hello, it is I, Sandy Bear and my trusty colleagues, Zotti and Rusty. Today we are crafting... a beary exciting project!

We have a roll of second-hand wall paper ($5) and as you can see... it is impossible to work with because it keeps wanting to roll back up...

This is where Zotti and Rutsy come in... a beary important job... stay tuned...

What exactly are we doing with the wall paper? Well... it's not wallpapering... that's for sure! Noooo... we are...

... lining dresser drawers! Yes... gotta keep the humans busy you know...

This used to be Grampa's dresser and it's now in our spare bedroom... Grampa had some big sheets of card stock in the drawers but... they didn't fit bear well... actually, not at all...

Soooo... today... we are going to measure and cut...

See... beary important job for these two stuffies... Now... let's see... 27 1/2 " long...

That's right about there...

Cut that... and then... 13 3/4 " deep... and...

Here we are... we are just using double-stick tape to hold it down... nothing fancy here.

It does need a bit of tweaking in the corners...

Ohhh... and that corner has crud in it... did we vacuum this drawer? Maybe not...

Let me just get on that...

By the way...

Never turn your back on a human and a vacuum cleaner... ahhhhhh... tickles!!!!!

Whew... there we go... one down and 3 more to go... What are you doing today?
