A Well-Dressed Mouse

Editor's Note - this adventure took place before Sandy headed down to visit Little Fox!

Hullo! As you know, Navy Beanie has joined our happy gang but... is... well... a tad under-dressed for the fall and winter!

"I do have a smashing bow tie though!"

"In a very nice tartan pattern... that's the tartan of Mouse Island you know."

Anyhow... until Cocoa Beanie gets here... (hopefully with a knitted jumper for Navy Beanie)...

"...In Navy blue please!!!"

I remembered that I had found this cute little tartan vest for Cocoa when he first arrived here...

How's it fit??? It even has a hoodie you know but... those ears are a bit...

Oh well... those ears slick right back don't they!!! You do look a bit rattish though...

And there's nothing worse than a mouse that looks like a rat!

"And a little pin to keep it closed helps... I could try my ears foreward..."

"There... and they act as a wind break too!!!"

I do have to say, I'm glad my ears are a bit more subdued than Navy's!

A Parcel!!

Hullo! We interrupt this regularly scheduled adventure hike to bring you breaking news... We got a parcel!! And it's from the UK... with fancy calligraphy writing which means... it's from the Beanie Mice!

Now where did Cocoa Beanie go?? I think he was going to do laundry... his tunic got a little dirty out there the other day... This is the thing when you only have one piece of clothing...

Yo!! Cocoa!!! The parcel came!!

What????!! It's here!!??

Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy!!!

"Are you sure this is the one?? It's only addressed to you?"

This is it, for sure, for sure! Let's open it!

O... M... G...

That is one huge pile of key chains and toys. The mice weren't kidding when they said they would send us some treasures for Geocaching... wow...

"But there's no vest... I thought there was a vest for me!"

Let's read the card...

"Hello Sandy Bear!

We sent over a knitted vest for Cocoa Beanie and some prizes from the geocaching boxes,

Ummm... no knitted sweater... that's for sure...

Maybe it's still in the envelope?? Why don't you dive in there and take a look?

Sometimes it's good to be small... what do you see??

"...errrff... there is something in here... something knitted!!"

"It's a VEST!!! For meeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!"

I love it! Love it! Absolutely love it! ... Did I mention that I love it?

Thanks Beanie Mice cousins!! It even smells like mice (chocolate and cheese)... I feel so much closer to my cousins with this vest on. It's my absolute favourite! 

And look.... it's not all the same colour... this front bit is more purply...

And the back has yellow with pink...

And other front side is more pinky again...

It's a coat of many colours and I loves it!

Now then... we are going to have to do some serious geocaching with this lot of prizes... Excellent!

A Well-Dressed Mouse

 There, there, it's all right... we'll find something for you to wear Cocoa Beanie!!!

"But when!!!!"...

"How about now?" said a silky smooth, well-dressed voice. Eh? What???

"Hi Cocoa, I'm Penelope Sophia Wilhelmine Louise Bear... also one of the Christmas stuffies. I heard you were down on your luck and needing something to wear. I think I can help!"

"I've got this little vest that I really don't need and I think... well... I think it just might fit you and look smashing to boot! Why not try it on?"

Whaaattt!!! It fits!!! Cool!

And it's got a hoodie too!!!

This is sooooo cool! Thanks er... Penelope Sophia Louise... no... wait... Wilhelmine...

"It's OK, just call me Penny Bear!"

Thanks Penny Bear!! Are you going to be needing this back? Because if not, I'm going to cut these lonnnnggg ties before I trip over them...

"Nope, all yours my little mouse friend!!"

I knew a bear would come through in the end!

But if we cut those ties, we're going to need some sort of a pin or clasp to keep that vest done up in front... take your pick Cocoa!

These two look nice, I think I'll go with the City of Nanaimo one! Cause it looks adventurous and I want to go on adventures!

There we go... one well-dressed mouse all kitted up and ready for adventures!

Now... if only the rain would stop....

The Cat in the Sweater went Back

 Sigh... bye Minnie. I'll miss you!! I hope you have a good 2021 and hopefully I'll see you next Christmas...

Oh, there's someone coming??

Oh, Hi. I have to go now. Christmas is over you know and all the Christmas stuffies are heading off till next Christmas... and... well... you know... they'll laugh at me if I'm naked...

***sound of crickets chirping***

Sigh... Cocoa Beanie here... I think it's only fair that I have Cat his sweater back...

It's OK Cocoa... we'll find something else. And soon the UK parcel will be here!

I know... this was just such a perfect fit for a little mouse...

But it's the right thing to do...

Here you go, cat... I don't want you to be naked for the whole year. 

Awww... thanks Cocoa!!! You're the best!! 

***sniff***... so nice to see stuffies reconciling!

Right then, I'm off!!!! Have a great year everybody and I'll see you in December!
