A Visit to Goats on the Roof

I'm in Holland!!! 

Almost... well... not quite...

There's a Dutch store here in Coombs and they have a seriously cool mural on the side of the building!

You could almost think you were in Holland... but not quite.

Eh, what is this??

It is a MASSIVE geo-cache!!!

I have zero idea how these work but later learned that the lock has a 3 digit code that you need to figure out.

We were too rushed to figure it out this time... but next time!!

We were hunting for beary specific dumplings for Gramma but... they had a tonne... just not the right ones.

Coombs is a beary interesting place with lots of weird sculptures and things.

Almost like Flintstone land... but not quite.

More dumplings in the Coombs General Store but... not the right ones.

They have so much cool stuff here!

A bear's head bottle opener?

I wanted to get one but was vetoed down... phooie!

I also wanted a Grizzly Paw pastry but... was also vetoed down... what is with this vetoing???

I'll have some of that, and some of this and more of those!!!!

Or maybe smoked salmon in various flavours!

Choices choices... soooo hard!

I really don't know...

Or do I want ice cream instead??? Ugh... how is a little bear to decide?

Or do I want Jaffa Cakes?? I know Beanie Mouse would be all over these!!

Or... how about Pigs'n'Taters chocolate? From Colorado... Yes... bacon and potato flavoured chocolate. I'm thinking this might appeal to Droopy W. Dog or Little Fox? Although... it's chococlate and chocolate is bad for canines... soooo?? Who eats this?

OK... and we are here to see the goats along with a tonne of other people... they are just over...

Geocaching with a Beary Special Visitor

 Guess who came for a visit over spring break??? Yep, it's Rose! And we decided to take her... geocaching!

So we got the geocaching app reinstalled... it had stopped showing our location which made it hard to use but... all it needed was a reinstall... and off we went. Are we going to find this one?

Yes!!! We got it!

What about this one???

Yes!! We got it! And yes... we made Rose do all the heavy lifting and bending and crouching... that's what you do when you are an apprentice geocacher!

We are trying to get up to a total of 20 found caches so we can finally leave one of our caches somewhere!!

Yep... this one is a bit murky... but....

We are brave, adventurous stuffies!

We are looking for the geocache we found once before... it's a place to take a bath in the woods. We tried to convince rose that it was this old sink but she said that wasn't big enough for a bath... hmph... it is for stuffies!

But she figured out it was the old bathtub just down the trail!

We had left a key chain in here last year and... it's gone! Yay!!!

There was an eraser in there... and the log sheet...

We left another key chain in this one! The other 2 were too small but this one is perfect!

We had fun!!! And Rose has now downloaded the geocaching app as well... so when she comes again, we are going to go and find some more... and make our own cache!!

Another Geocaching Adventure

 Hullo! We are going on another geocaching adventure. And maybe we'll have some other adventures along the way...

Like some cute photo ops... Sometimes I have really good balance....

Oooh... look what we found... some super cool painted rocks!

People paint them and then leave them around the forest for people to take home. We took the one on the left home!

Oh geez... a raging river is now crossing the trail! Be careful with your tail Cocoa!

"Right... Tails High, Stuffies! ... and now... ssshhhh... while I focus on my balance...."

"Whew... made it! Now it's your turn Sandy..."

Alright... we both made it and... of course... the human can cross the raging river with one stride. Less adventurous though! Hmph.

And look... there's still some snow in the woods. Not quite enough for another snow mouse though.

Cute ducks on this little lake...

And some rock climbing... because we can!

Almost there... Just don't look down!

And we made it!! Wow... quite a nice view from up here...

That was fun... we've already had a scad of adventures on this hike... found rocks, fording a raging river, climbing a mountainous rock and... 

Finally.... a geocache!!

This one has a nature focus... so we are leaving them a...
