Reno-Bear

Hullo!!! So... after waking up from hibernation in late March... I got dumped right into a reno project!! Which required a lot of supervision

All of the bedrooms got painted. Two of the bedrooms are blue and Mama's office is now 2 shades of green. The photos don't show green... don't know why!

Oh... and we got all new carpeting in the 3 bedrooms too! A berber... beary nice... Do you remember teh old carpet in here?

It was a beary old carpet and had a bunch of stains in places. High time to get it replaced!!

It meant ALL of the furniture had to get moved out of the bedrooms and stuffed into the living room, dining room and kitchen. Ugh!! Oh... and we got new baseboards done too!

I know... the walls look brown... but, really... they are green!!

Anyhow... it has been quite a hectic few weeks but... it is almost done!

The closet doors need a trim off the bottom because the new carpet sits higher than the old worn out stuff and... now the closet doors don't fit.

But that will get done.

Oh... and we probably need new curtains now too... the red isn't really going with the green...

But we have a plan for that... an EPIC adventure is coming up!! Stay tuned... here's a hint... it involves visiting someone to celebrate their 90th Birthday!! Can you guess who?

Bear Wakes up from Winter Hibernation and Opens Mail

Editor's Note: Yes... an empty chair. Sandy fell into a deep hibernation after we returned from Mexico. But with spring here... there were signs of movement on March 21. It still took him a few days to actually drag himself out of his hibernation burrow...

Soooo tired... ugh... are you sure it's spring???

It looks kind of dark out (it's 6 am).

Can't I just nap for a bit longer??

Just a quick nap.....

*** After a hot chocolate infusion***

Hiya!!! I'm back!!!!! Did you miss me????

I missed you!!!!

I know... bear hibernations are beary inconvnient but... ya gotta admit... we choose a good time of year to hibernate! Nothing much happened here during Jan/Feb/Mar. No gardening. No trips. Meh... good time of year to just snooze!

But now... I have to catch up on mail!

This first one is from Ajdin... with some nice stickers on the back!

Thanks Ajdin!

Oh... er... it's a Christmas card!!!!

Heh-heh... I guess I fell asleep before I could even open my mail after Mexico!

Thanks Ajdin!!! We had a great Christmas in Mexico!

Oh... and in case anyone missed the memo... Navy and Cocoa are visiting with Dwarf Beanie in Vancouver.

Then we have another one from Ajdin in a red envelope...

I wonder if it's a...

Yep... a Valentine's Day card!!

I like the sentiment... "Eat lots of chocolate!"

Thanks Ajdin!!

Now another one from...

Oooh... a hand-made V-day card... must be Droopy!

Beary pretty!!

Droopy is sooooo creative with cards!

Yep... feel very warm and fuzzy!!

Thanks Droopy! Always love your cards!

And then one from Beanie!!

Ohhhh wow... it's the London Bus Guides that I ordered! They were delayed for a long time because Royal Mail was on strike or job action or something... or did they get hacked? Something... and international mail was all out of whack. But here they are!!

I love these Bus Guides!! And need to spend some time perusing them and adding my own favourite spots to them. Like Starbucks!

There was a card with the Bus guides... that looks like... an Arabic keyboard?

Cool!

And a note from Beanie, apologizing for the delay!

Don't worry... I was fast asleep!!! But I'm awake now!

Christmas and back home

Editor's Note: Another delayed post (from Christmas no less!)

Yes!!! We celebrated Christmas in Mexico!!!

We had some German Lebkuchen cookies... yum!!!

Why are there always odd numbers of cookies in these packages??? sigh...

And visions of sunbathing on Christmas were shattered... or rather... splattered. It bucketed rain on Christmas!!

But the buffet food spread was amazing!!! With beary edible decorations.

Wow...

It's hard to get in the festive spirit when there's no snow... but we brought our elf hat with us!

And we had some beary hoity-toity desserts...

This was super yummmmm!!!! Lime sherbet... ohhhhh... sooooooo good!!!!

It was so fun to hang out with Rose!!

And then we flew home (epic adventure after all the Sunwing delays over the Christmas holidays). Our flight was "only" 5 hours late. Cocoa and Navy wanted to stay in Vancouver and hang out with Dwarf Beanie for a few months. So Sandy came home alone... and promptly fell into a deep hibernation sleep!!
