RIP Queen Elizabeth II - 1926-2022

Obsidian Storm and I are very sad to hear of the passing of Queen Elizabeth II. We know that she loved her RCMP horse, Burmese and think she would have loved little Bearista Bears too... if she had met one. Cause, you know... she had tea with Paddington Bear!

Mail Call and a Surprise!

Hullo!!! It's that time again...

Yep... it's mail call!! This week, there's a postcard! It looks like a bunch of Indigenous people having a skating party... but that can't be right, can it?

Although there are sticks on the ice... and some tin cups (maybe with hot chocolate?). So maybe this is an early version of hockey?

It's from Jerry & Ben!!! They too wondered about the tins containing hot cocoa... well, Jerry wondered. Ben is pretty sur they didn't. And the painting is Ballplay of the Dakota... on a frozen river... so it could be an early version of ice hockey!

It's an RCMP horse!!!! I'll be right back!!!!

As many of you know... I am a member of the RCMP B Division (That's Bear Division for those not in the know). But it's hard to be an RCMP without a mount... afterall... RCMP stands for Royal Canadian Mounted Police... it's not the RCUP you  know (Royal Canadian Unmounted Police).

And this horse... is... for meeeee???!!!!!

Yes I do!!! My name is Obsidian Storm!!! And I am an official RCMP horse, born and bred to work hoof in paw with members of the RCMP B Division!!! But... there's been supply chain issues you know.... Anyhow... mount up!!!

Errr... oooffff... I can see... ooof ... grunt... why you are... ugh! lying down... I'd have serious trouble getting mounted if you were stand in up!!

RCMP Bear Winter Uniform

Oh, hullo... yes, I am getting ready for the beach but... first... some mail!

A big package came and it has my winter RCMP uniform!!

What's it look like? Well... hang on...

See... it  doesn't look much different from the regular one except for having a beary snazzy fur hat... So, I think this package has my hat and.... boots!

Whaddya think? I think I need to tie up the flaps a bit...?

Secret Mission

Hullo... Gramma is having a nap this afternoon and I am on a mission! We are looking for boughs for a Christmas hanging for her door... wish me luck!

A cemetery? Interesting place to look for boughs!

 OK... not the cemetery... but the slope below the cemetery! This looks a little steep - I better be careful otherwise I will be tobogganing to the bottom very quickly!

 Ah... here we go... there are some fir trees at the bottom of the hill.

 That's what we were looking for... some amabilis fir and some noble fir (I think).

The trail up is much better than the route we took down!

No Starbucks but... something else!

Hullo... last episode found me wandering the streets of downtown Prince George in search of a Starbucks... I kept asking for directions from various Spirit Bears and getting even more lost...

My little feet are tired and I haven't found a single human on these streets. Ohhh... wait... a truck just went by!!! Let's follow it!!

This building looks beary impressive... I wonder if it is a restaurant... maybe a Starbucks?

Ooohhh... it's the new RCMP detachment!!! They have a pretty big detachment because... Prince George is Canada's most dangerous city (per capita). Yup... and... ummm... why are we wandering the streets all by ourselves???

I'm going to go in an ask about Starbucks... (no photos allowed)... too bad I don't have my Mountie uniform! But I do have my Mountie ID...

OK... the short answer... it's "down that way" at the corner of George and 5th. Whew... good directions except... that is way too far away for this little tired bear to walk now!

 I am pooped... and no hot chocolate and... phooie!!!

Oooohhhh... I'll have a honey dip donut and a maple dip donut and a honey cruller and....

Mmmm.... back in the hotel room and I can almost taste the donut... mmmm....

... slurp... drool.... huh??? This isn't a donut!!!

 I ordered a donut!!! Where is my donut???

Oh... there it is... he-heh...!

 A honey dip Timmies donut... mmmm.... munch... slurp... drool... mmmm...
