Beanie also showed off his passport... very nice...
And the stamps he gets from places he stays...
Ah-hem... isn't my passport due for renewal??? I want a posh one like Beanie's!
And we're off on a grand adventure... up top of a double decker bus. It is bucketing rain...
Beanie tied an art CD to the railing...
And drew a self-portrait on the steamy window... artistic mouse he is!
We got off at Oxford Street and hiked down another road... Charing Cross maybe... we saw a Starbucks!!! And... hey... who's photo bombing us!!! The humans on this trip... honestly...
We stopped at the MinaLima store... they're the ones who did all the printed stuff used in Harry Potter (newspapers, books, letters, etc)... Rose was over the moon...
And now we are catching another bu... hey!!! another photo bomber mouse!
Ooh... that's a pretty bee... haven't found the honey yet though...
The grates on the floor in here are super cool!
Art in its own right...
This building is cool!!
Oh... and it has paintings... we liked this one cause it reminds us of home - with the mountains in the background and the water...
Rose was kind of "meh" about all the paintings and we tried to get her into it by "spot the animals"... this one has a deer... we couldn't find any paintings with bears, foxes, otters, lions or mice!! Why is that??? Species-ism... that's what it is!
We all liked this painting and played "spot the bug/snail"!!! Rose counted over a dozen...
When we got spit out of the National Gallery, we thought we had been transported back home!! But no... is only Canada House...
Trafalgar Square!! And another photo bomber... (I hope all these "bomber" words aren't going to get this blog flagged as subversive by the powers-that-be!)
A bit of a hike and here we are... Byron's Burgers!!! And a double photo bomb... sigh.
Righto then... let's tuck in... And the verdict is... Burger & Shakes wins!!! Byron's Burgers are good but... not as juicy and succulent as the other place... and the bacon ain't as good here... Although the Elderflower drink was yummy...
We then burped (oops) and toddled off to the London Transport Museum... it was pretty cool although over-run by screaming (like seriously SCREAMING) children...
Not sure if it would be calmer on a weekday... or early in the morning...
But still pretty cool!
The old buses only had an entrance at the back!!
Like this... can you spot Rose??
We also learned that the lost and found gets over 150,000 items every year!! And a lot of them are toys and stuffies... goodness...
We also stopped at Laduree (good)... and bought some macaroons!
Then it was off to catch a bus... and we all thought next time we should stay here at the Savoy...
Turns out there was a march and our bus was delayed by 30 minutes so we took the Tube and got spit out at Piccadilly! Beanie wanted a pic with Rose! And yes... that is a Gryffindor scarf...
We walked down the street a bit... that lady in the left of the photo is giving us funny looks. Huh... never seen a stuffie reporter before?
Oooohhhh... are we stopping for a snack???
Apparently we are!! That's Fortnum and Mason back there... with a bus photo bombing the picture.... Little Fox is trying to show off his "good side"...
We took a pic of a drain cover for Beanie! This one is self-locking... who knew...
We are at the Royal Academy to have "proper" tea... with scones and clotted cream and jam... None of us wanted to pause for a photo at this point... let's go!!!
Then we got on another bus... have I mentioned that Beanie really knows his buses??
And went to the hostel where we regrouped and then... came here for dinner...
Beanie had bought a mystery bag at MinaLima and got some postcards and a bus pass cover AND a Hogwarts badge/pin!! He's quite pleased with himself. Rose was ready to trade away all sorts of things for that badge but... eventually she decided to visit MinaLima again on another day! Good thing... cause Beanie likes this badge pin!
We all had meat pies... cause they are seriously yummy here... Oh... "here" is Piebury Corner!!
And then we fell into bed again... pooped!
Brilliant day out, even if I say so myself!!!
ReplyDeleteyep!
DeleteOh, those poor lost stuffies...Hope somebody adopts them soon!
ReplyDeleteI know! It's tragical really...
DeleteMacaroons!!
ReplyDeleteAccording to Beanie... they are macarons in England... macaroons are a coconut thing... Beanie is a macaron connoisseur so we defer to his wisdom in this matter!
