The Tower!

Today we went to the Tower of London!!

It's pretty cool down here... that's Tower Bridge in the background...

Looks like it's low tide on the river today... when it's high tide, it covers the green slime marks!

We had to wait around a bit to wait for it to open...

Some of our tour group thought we should have a snack but even the ice cream truck wasn't open yet!

And we're in!!! Our first stop was the Waterloo Barracks to have a look at the Crown Jewels... (no pics allowed).

But they look like this...
From HRP site...
Rose liked the Crown Jewels... less a fan of the Yeoman Warder's gory stories on the tours!

That's the Shard in the background!

So cool...

It wasn't long before we were getting crowded out by hordes of tourists...

But we still saw a lot!

Mind you, none of us were a fan of the Royal Beasts exhibit which talked about how animals were caged at the Tower - like bears... and lions... and foxes (no otters though).

Mood lighting... Mama had a lunch meeting to Auntie and Rose went across Tower Bridge (with the glass floor)... beary exciting.

We then met again and wondered how this raven had gotten out of the Tower... maybe he was out for a walk...

And... we got ice cream!!!

We also had a poke around the ruins of St. Dundas Church near the Tower...

Quite cool... and very quiet as well... a nice oasis from the crazy hordes.

For dinner... we roamed around trying to avoid the rain showers... cool building!

We popped into Leadenhall Market...

So Rose could get a pic in front of the shop used for Olivander's Wand Shoppe in one of the movies.

And then we stopped at Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese pub for dinner... mmmm... although, the Brits do tend to mangle vegetables...

  3. @Beanie - ummm... where to start... soft and drab? There's nothing like cooked crisp broccoli (or carrots or whatever)...
@Droopy - They must have strong necks... some of those crowns weight a lot!
@Ajdin - exhausting trip so far!
