Cacher Bear

Hello... I am on the hunt for a couple more geocaches... but first... I am checking out the waterfalls. Earlier this year... they were just trickling ... but... now...

Now... there's a LOT more water and it is just rushing over the edge...

Seee... pounding away!

Even this back waterfall which had nothing in it before... is flowing quite well.

And...  the bottom looks more like a lake! I was wandering around down there a few months ago... not today!

Amazing what a bit of rainfall can do...

And... here we go... the location of our first geocache of the day... the clue said not to toss forest detritus around as we might be tossing the geocache... and the trick is... to look and see, what does not belong?

I think I see it...

This chunk of white-barked log looks out of place...

And voila... green string and a little container stuffed into the centre of the log... beary good hiding spot! And... all that was in there was a scroll of paper for writing down my name and the date... in teeny tiny handwriting...

On the way to the other cache I found this... a cute little bird house type thing.

And... there's something else down there! Do you see it?

It's a little door into the tree. Beary cool...

The second cache took a bit of hunting because the coordinates were off but... we found it!

A paper (all full) for writing my name and address... and then a few toys and a broken pencil... These cachers need to maintain their caches otherwise... it gets messy quickly.

And... a blue rock!

That's it... just a blue rock...

And... yes... I got a treat afterwards... but not at the picnic table cause it's too cold out!

So, it's a picnic in the truck... mmmm.... brownie!

  1. Really really liking the celebratory brownie. Have you ever found a mini jar of honey in a cache location?

    1. Nope but apparently some new caches will have gift cards. But I think only the pro members get notice of those!

    1. Yup, here too. No snow yet though and the nasturtiums are still blooming. Go figure.
