Emergency Preparedness

Hello - Sandy Bear here... today we are organizing and supplementing our emergency preparedness kit! It's always a good idea to be prepared... and we live in an area with the potential for earthquakes and wildfires soooo... better safe than sorry! We are working on three kits:

1. Stay and Shelter - in case we have to hunker down
2. Grab and Go - in case we have to bug out
3. Truck - the basics in case we are out and about

Now... we did have kind of an emergency kit (called camping gear) but... it really wasn't complete (no crank radio and other stuff)... so this is to get organized and complete the kit!

See... we had done something last fall...

Do you have an emergency kit? Do you know what disasters could strike your area? Tornadoes? Floods? Hurricanes? Power Outages? Earthquakes? Zombie Apocalypse?

Alrighty... here we go... we are arranging our gear by themes: This is going to be the cooking gear tub (for Stay and Shelter)... It's mostly our camping gear...

We'll be super-organized for camping!

This tub has some seasonal clothing, 1st aid kit and toiletries... but we need some more jackets... need a bigger tub!

This is a tub with survival gear (for lack of a better word) - light, warmth, safety stuff...

Cooking tub is done...

And bigger tub for clothing...

And we have the camp stove, some propane canisters and a water container... And yes, there is a tub with food and water filtration gear... With honey!! Honey basically never goes off so... that is pretty awesome... We can smear honey on the emergency ration bars... heh-heh... Oh, and yes, I have a spare outfit in the Grab'n'Go bag! Whew... we are done (more or less)... What about YOUR emergency preparedness... (I could be like Smokey Bear except... maybe Prepare Bear!)
