A Maritime Adventure!

Hullo! We are off on a maritime adventure today and the weather is absolutely perfect. It's been a soggy September but... this Saturday dawned clear and bright...

We're waiting for the ferry to arrive... Who's the "we"??

It's us... and Otto!!!! And Rose!!! 

Where are we going??? Good question...

The little ferry is called the Bowen Queen but... we are not going to Bowen Island.

Nope, we are going to our old stomping grounds from Fall of 2012...

We are off to Salt Spring Island for the day!! Rose's grandparents live here and she wants to visit them... and it's Farmer's Market day too!! Which is a big thing on Salt Spring...

They certainly squished us on the ferry today as well...

Somebody's getting a load of firewood it looks like...

Turns out there were still a few spaces left...

Oh... and we should introduce Salsa to you! Rose adopted two dwagons... Salsa and Guac (he's green)... But only Salsa came along on this trip,...

Oh, and that's Rufus the Fox.... he's the truck mascot... Well, he used to be the truck mascot. The humans finally traded in the 1996 Toyota 4 Runner for something built in this millenium!! Still 10 years old but... it's new to us! It has... ***gasp***... power locks, power windows and... intermittent wipers!!! Humans get excited over the weirdest things.

Right then... here we are at the Farmer's Market!!

Rose was interested in the crystals and rocks stall... she bought an amethyst pendant...

We were more interested in the food stalls and bought a cheese scone (no pics) and a cinnamon roll!! YUM!!!

It's so nice here...

And we found a store named Foxes!!! 

We know a certain little fox who might be interested in this. It's a board games shop... interesting!

Do any of you still play board games?? We play card games (Uno, Skipbo, Phase 10) but we've heard Catan is supposed to be good. Anyone play Catan?

Ohhhhh... the elf door guy is here!!!! We have an elf door though...

We also found an art supply store... a certain mouse we know (or rather, a mischief of mice) would probably have wanted to go in here!

We tried to look in the window but...

Oh, hey, that's the Coast Guard's boat, Cape Naden. Wonder where they are off to...

They are a motor lifeboat... maybe they got a call out?

Or... yowzers!!! What the heck is that boat????

Sorry... not a common run-of-the-mill boat... that's a yacht!! We zoomed in on the name but couldn't quite read it... "A.... Eagle"... maybe... No... wait... It's After Eight!!!

Hah!!! We figured it out!! It's not owned by any fancy sports celebrity or actress either. After Eight is a superyacht owned by the Wheaton Family who are big automotive family (GM dealerships across western Canada). Must be nice...

Anyhoo... there goes the Coast Guard boat... and our time here is almost done.

We found a super cool fairy door...

Or is it an elf door?? Or a gnome door? Still think they should be transporters... hmph....
