A Hike

Oh hello! I am going for a hike today. This little bear has cabin fever and needs to get out into the woods. Where are we going today?

Ah. Ammonite Falls! We've been here before but in the summertime when there isn't much water. Hoping it's a bit more at this time of year!

And, no, there are no high winds today. Good thing!

We're off... up this road for a bit...

And down this road. I tried on the aviator glasses but they don't work for me. And ignore the "Private Residents Only" sign... that's only for cars... not little bears!

Let's go.

Oooh... this is a big excavator...

There we go... into the big trees. It is soooo nice in the forest.

These trees sure are tall...

It's a good thing they put these bridges in because it's been raining and it would be a bit tricky...

It's not a big creek but this little bear doesn't like to get his paws wet.

Huh. That's new, that cut block. It wasn't here last time.

I don't like it!

It's a wasteland now. And you can see that the trees left standing along the edges of the cut block suffer from blow-down. They don't have their tree family around them protecting them from the winds...

See...

I see why that sign was needed at the start of the trail.

Grumble...

This used to be a cute little shady marsh and now... sigh...

OK... someone is sniffling... not because they are sad but because the cool air is making noses dribble. And that can get annoying after a while! Here... have a kleenex!

Better? Excellent... No, you can keep the packet... you might need it later!

Whoa... that is quite the list... Luckily is doesn't say "No Bears".

Whew... we are almost there... but that is for another post!

  1. On the blue sign. What does that last image mean? Looks like you are not supposed to be dropping seeds....

    1. It does, doesn't it. I think it's a no littering sign. We made sure to pack out the sniffly kleenex tissues...
