A Scramble Hike

Hello again, we are almost at the falls! Now comes the tricky bit. There are two rather steep pitches that are also quite muddy...

See? This is the first one... and while there are ropes to hold onto... well, they can be murky.

Mama is saying that she won't use her knit gloves to get down but... don't worry...

This little bear came prepared with some garden gloves from the truck! Hoory!

Except... errr... I guess there were two pairs in the truck and someone seems to have grabbed two left hands. Oh well!

And we're down the first pitch...

The falls are looking good.

There's the second pitch... it's trickier.

So beautiful.

And we're down! Pick a rope...

Gloves were definitely a good idea.

I, of course, rode down in style inside the backpack...

And here we are...

Apparently the regional district is thinking of installing wooden stairs down this slope... that would be helpful!

But much less adventurous.

Definitely more water now than in the summer... I imagine at the height of the rainy season, it's even bigger. Maybe I'll slosh out here one of those times.

I wanted to use one of these pics for my header but... apparently all the full frontal shots are vertical pics! Sigh.

Good help is hard to find... but sometimes you need to work with what you can get.

Right then... now it's just to slog back UP the hill... stay tuned.

  1. Those gloves sure came in handy. A waterfall in the spring is always an amazing sight.

  2. Two left hands...is that better than two left feet?...
