Hullo! We are doing another hike today... and yes... taking more lupin pictures apparently!
We are hiking the Skerwink Trail!! Apparently it's one of the top 35 trails in North America...
It's about 5 km and is rated moderate-difficult...
So far, it's not too bad... lots of short stubby trees... and some open boggy meadows.
One of the reasons why it's so spectacular, is the sea stacks one can see along the way.
Like those ones!!!
They are pretty cool!
There are some boardwalks as well, which are cool.
And more boggy areas with Labrador Tea..
oooohhh...
These ferns are everywhere, and are lovely chartreuse green.
Um, yeah. Ya think????
Oh boy... more stairs!!!
I'm just going to rest here...
And get a selfie with the Bunchberries!Whew!! Almost made it to the point. That's a person waaaaayyyy out there... that tiny little speck...
This is a super cool hike!
We are almost at the half-way point.
Along the way...
Were they rabbits??? I wonder if any puffins would ever move in here?
Probably not... puffins will only nest with other puffins... so if there are no puffins here... no puffins will nest here... a bit of a circular conundrum!
I saw some cute Twin Flowers along the way!!
Sometimes there weren't stairs... just wet, slippery trails crawling up the hillsides... this is probably waht gets it a difficult rating!
Is Trinity! Where we were the other day and had yummy ice cream.
Sigh... more stairs and boardwalks. This little bear is getting tired.
The landscape is quite varied... from boggy ares to scrubby trees, to more open vistas...
And murky trails...
Ooooh... and one last sea stacks!!!
And we found our car again... and a LOT more cars than when we started. Glad we got here early. Because it's such a famous trail, it gets a lot of visitors.
