Halloween Dinner

Hullo! It's Halloween this evening, so we need to be strong and alert to hand out treats! (And maybe snag a few for ourselves).

We are going to have pizza!!

"First we cut up some ham... you can never go wrong with smoke meat of any sort on a pizza!"

That is beary true Lf! And while you're cutting up the ham (I saw you sneak a few pieces too)... I'll cut up the other stuff.

"Ummm... what other stuff are we putting on??"

Well... you know... pineapple... cause we are having a Hawaiian pizza!!! Everybody LOVES pineapple on their pizza, right?

"Hmmm... do I love pineapple on my pizza... a drink is fine but... on pizza? I mean... chicken would be good... better... wouldn't it?"

Well... let's introduce you to it! And we are having a gluten-free cauliflower crust from Costco!

"I think you are mixing me up with Reindeer... he likes veggie stuff... cauliflower crust??"

Carrying right along!! It comes with some tomato sauce... yum!

And then we put on the ham and the pineapple... and a mix of 4 types of cheese!

Then we wait... and wait...

Less than 2 minutes left! Don't you just love how our stoves are still Fahrenheit?? Yet we are a metric country?

I don't know that we could even figure out what 425 F is in Celsius... probably 185 or something... (nope... 218!)

Anyhow!! It's ready!

"It certainly smells yummy!"

Let's chow down and go and watch the latest Loki episode on Netflix! And wait for the handful of kids to come by!

A Halloween Treat

 Hullo! Yes it's us again! We were going to pass on the Halloween treat category for Jerry & Ben's contest but... we pulled an entry together!!!

"First, we **cough** made a pie crust..."

I dare you to stare into the steely-eyed gaze of this little fox and challenge that claim...

Then we **cough** made the filling!

Yes we did... eggs, milk and pumpkin stuff!

"Don't forget to prick the pie shell...."

Then we poured the filling into the pie shell. Easy peasy!!

And shoved it in the oven and waited...

Until it came out! Yum!!!

Then we looked through Pinterest for decorating ideas...

Ooohhh... this one is cute!!!

What do you think??

We like the maple leaf bits... but should they not be placed on the pie half way through? Or... hmmm... baking is not our forte! 

Ohhhh... this one!!!

Look at those! Maybe they could be baked separately and put on later??

O... M... G... 

Awwww this one is perfect!!!!! It's got ghosts on it!

No wait this one!!! LF! Come and look at this one... It would be amazing!!!

Now... where did that fox get to??? Uh-oh... I hear noises in the kitchen!!!!

GASP!!!! Oh my... our pie!!!

Is Jerry in the house????!!! Or has Little Fox taken a page out of his book!?

Ummm... LF... did you seriously eat a piece of pie?? That big?

"Heck NO! I heard noises and I came out here to check and... voila... The Case of the Missing Piece of Pumpkin Pie!"

Me thinks I smell a human at work!!

Ah-hah!!!! Caught pumpkin-pie handed!!!! 

How could you!!??? Our pie??!!!

What do you mean "payment for services rendered"... we didn't even get a chance to decorate it!

Our poor pumpkin pie... oh well... Ben will understand what this is like... and Jerry will just start drooling...

Sandy's Halloween Costume

 Soooo... Sandy here... you know how Rose is a big costume maker??

Remember last fall when she created a costume of the Scarlet Witch (from the Marvel movies)?

And this past February, she had created another costume of the female Thor for another costume convention!

Well, when she was here in August... I put in a costume request... for meeeee!!!

She thought about it for a bit... and researched some photographs and ideas online and...

She said "YES"!!!!!

Soooo... this meant I had to spend weeks at her place getting fitted and fitted again... First we needed a paper pattern...

Seee.... paper pattern... then it gets transferred to foam...

Those are my arm holes!!

And then see if it fits OK... Rose was muttering that a little costume is MUCH harder to make than a big costume!

Then we needed extra foam bit strips...

Until we had this... Doesn't look like much, does it...

Looking better!!! And it fits!

Then we needed accoutrements!!! This was a beary tricky piece and Rose's dad helped her with this (in case you are thinking Rose's hand has suddenly aged)...

It's made out of foam too!

Lots of tricky cuts and angles on this...

So while he's working on that... Rose kept working on the main bit... it has a paint job now!!! And rivets! And leather strips!

And there's the helmet finally!!!

And there's a shield... not quite done yet...

And a sword!!!

But... Rose was supposed to come to our place this weekend, on the 27th, to bring the costume but had to rebook for the following weekend!! Sooooo... guess who did a flying trip over to get some photos of the costume? Meeee!!!!!

Right... here we are!!! We are going to do some "green screen" shots... 

I know... I know... bear on a stick... but Rose said it would be better this way... and one does tend to obey Rose! 

Because... voila!!! Green screen!! They stitched in a Roman background!

Oh yes... in case you can't tell... this is a Roman centurion outfit!! With sandals and a cape and everything!!!

Rose thought this was a good picture!

I love it!!!!! 

It's the best costume I've ever had!!!
