Sandy is a very well-read little bear. He likes to peruse the news on the internet every day - sometimes several times a day. Usually it's a lot of human news but sometimes... it becomes beary interesting for Sandy!
Like a few days ago... there was a headline which read...
Apparently 100 bee hives were stolen... and while most people would think it was a rogue bee-keeper... Sandy suspects it is a group of bears! Who else would go to such lengths to steal that many bees and that much honey! Sandy, of course, has an alibi... he wasn't anywhere near BC at the time...
And then a few days after that... there was another headline
Seriously!!! Sandy read the story with much interest... apparently a couple of Swedes decided that a teddy-bear invasion would promote human rights within the insular country of Belarus (formerly part of the USSR). They flew a light plane into Belarussian airspace and dropped 100's of teddy-bears by parachute - carrying signs that read: "Belarus freedom" and "We support the Belarus struggle for free speech." Two Belarussian generals were sacked after the teddy bear invasion (Defense Minister and Border Security). Which is the first time in history that generals have been defeated by teddy bears.
Sandy thinks those were beary brave bears! They must have been volunteers for this mission and he hopes that they find beary nice people to care for them.
Those sure are brave bears! We need to find those Bee thieves!
ReplyDeleteI hope the bees are going to return to their homes. And those brave bears are real heros!
ReplyDeleteYes... I've been looking in other news and bee-theft is apparently quite common - but never so many. Those bears are getting very bold. Maybe they did a parachute invasion like the other bears? I can see it now... goodbye Ninja Turtle... hello Balaclava Bears (that's balaclava (the black head thing the SWAT teams wear) not Baklava (the Greek dessert)!
ReplyDeleteHow did I miss this story about those brave bears? Probably because I've been glued to the Olympics network and missed the other important world news. Those brave bears did a great job.
ReplyDeleteI wonder story I saw on our news tonight is connected to your missing bees.

Yes, apparently Sweden and Belarus have both expelled ambassadors over the bear incident. This is serwious bisnuss!
ReplyDeleteI think maybe the Ontario story is where the bears are storing their stolen honey! The police should be checking out any bears in that house to see if they have sticky paws... I is also Sherlock Bear!!
