On the Hunt for the Dogwood

***Editor's Note - this is a pre-recorded episode**

We are off on an adventure today! It is dogwood blooming season and we are going to go and look for one out in the wild...

We could find one just down the street but...

We are Adventure Stuffies!!

And murky trails are all part of the adventure!

We found some Camas along the way...

They are so pretty...

It's been so wet and cool this spring, they are a bit later than normal.

And that white flower is called... oh shoot... it's called something! Oh... right... it's the Death Camas... go figure. It's Latin name is: Toxicoscordion venenosum... Toxic... and that looks like venom... Charming!

It's a bit of a grey gloomy day...

And... you see that lake... it's only 10°C!!

We know this because there was a triathlon happening this morning and they decided the lake was too cold for the swimming part so they had to do two running bits instead!

So they did run/bike/run...

Anyhow... back to the hunt for... the dogwood! There's one, way off in the distance!!

But we found this one closer by...

Such a pretty flower... from a tree. It's BC's emblem, you know.

We found a refreshment station as well... with water (even though it says Gatorade).

And there's an outhouse too!

There's another dogwood!

That was fun!

But I can tell you right now, those runners would have gotten soaked and muddy on this trail!

We have no desire to get any splashback from them, so we headed off!

    1. I think they saw us and didn't put them out until after we left. Smart.

    1. This bear is not designed for triathlons... especially the swimming part! Although... Jerry & Ben are looking at getting a bear bicycle...
