Hullo! Sherlock Sandy here... I received some mail from the UK last week. I'm going to guess it's another clue from Beanie Moriarty in the Case of the Missing Bullion!
This sure is a fancy envelope... with a LOT of stickers.
See... stickers...
Those are the UK stamps...
And this looks like a stamp but it's actually "Artpost"... go figure!
That Moriarty Beanie is "Sneaky Smarty"!
The back of the envelope has even more stickers...
Looks old fashioned...
I live there!!
And another one.
Now that we have examined the envelope for any clues, let's take a look inside.
A fancy card... Italian writing with "S. Georgia maggiore frari et Badia"... which is in Venice... or Venezia as the Italians say!
And it's Greeting Card 2,554... I posted on the found-art blog!
Ah-hah!! This is our prize from the
last Case of the Missing Bullion... a 50p coin commemorating Johnson's Dictionary!
See... it's a got a definition of "Fifty" and "Pence" on there!
Thanks Moriarty Beanie!!
Now... for the next clue...
"A countrywide partnership comes to an end,
On communal decrees, we no longer depend.
Although still allies, new trade routes are made,
And finally now, independence conveyed.
What is the commemoration?"
Well now... that's a conundrum isn't it?? Would the Brits have commemorated the War of Independence in the USA?? Hmmm... unlikely...
Is it a Commonwealth thing??? Nope... Well, then... my Sherlock senses tell me it is a Brexit coin!!
See... Brexit coin!
Thanks for the clue Moriarty Beanie!
