2021 Stuffie Olympics - Rowing

Hello folks! Today is our final event in the 2021 Stuffie Olympics! It's the 2 Stuffie Rowing event. A tricky event for our competitors given their differences in size. Their boat appears to be well constructed... the trick will be... can they maintain their balance!

So athletes, how are you feeling about your chances in this event?

Sandy - "Well... I'm pretty stoked. I've tried this event before but never quite managed the balance thing correctly. I think with two of us, we can distribute the weight quite well. On top of that... we have oars and oarlocks this time! Makes a huge difference!"

Cocoa - "I've gone boating before after the Mouse Island Tsunami... that was just in a coconut shell. But I think we can manage it given our equipment!"

Alright folks, our competitors sound pretty pumped about this event. As for Otto... he's going to be an in-the-water referee this time around... making sure that our athletes don't try any sneaky business. Not sure what that would be but... with stuffies, you never know!

We also have a panel of judges... Rusty, Slow and Slower... Looks like we're ready to get started.. shhh...

And here they go... they are using the boat launch ramp to get into the water... looks like they're making good use of their oars.

And... they're in the water! So far so good... Let's keep our paws crossed for these two.

And look how they're hauling on those oars... making some good headway... Otto says they're doing good so far!

A bit of a current in the river today... but they're making some progress. And... most importantly, their balance seems good!

Oh... and here's a live shot ... definitely making good headway... and Otto's having a look too (video link here in case it doesn't appear below)

And they're done!!! Whew... nobody ended up in the drink and they crossed the finish line having maintained their balance. Quite an achievement folks!

  2. Nice work team Canada. I'm impressed that Coco wanted to get in the water after surviving a tsunami.
