Green Thumb Sandy - Seedling Starter Kits

Hello again... well, we have started our gladiola bulbs by giving them a bit of water... they need to go into pots and the ground soon...

They sure are shooting up fast!

And putting out lots of rootlets.

Oh, Hi Minnie!!

Awww... nose kiss... so cute!

We are also using some seed starter kits to get a head start on a few things.

We have three different kits. This one is just a plain one with some potting soil.

This one is fancy with little peat pucks and a fancy watering mat...

It has serious instructions!

And then we have one from Gramma with some peat pucks and... that's it.

It'll be interesting to see how they all do. What are we planting?

Well... first up, is going to be tomatoes and cukes... We were thinking squash too but they should only be started indoors in early May... so that's a bit far off yet.

Are you starting any seeds indoors?? Jerry? Little Fox?

  1. Gardening is on the schedule this weekend. Cilantro, snap peas, delicata squash, onions and lettuce are going in (as seeds). Tomatoes, Basil and Peppers go in as starts (once the weather heats up). There was frost on the roofs and grass on Sequoia's morning walk....LF

    1. Oooh... excellent. We have had some roof frost the last few days as well although it is supposed to warm up quite a bit starting Monday. We are going to be planting parsnip, kohlrabi and more mesclun on Monday... and we are building dedicated squash beds along the south-facing side of the house that got upheaveled during the perimeter drain mess...

    2. We hope the farmers markets are available; this stuck in the house thing is not good for little bears.

    3. Nope... stuck in the house is only good if you have lots of movies to watch with popcorn and cookies...
