Hullo! The three of us are going blackberry picking today!! We have lots of buckets... two 4 litre (1 gallon) white yogurt buckets and a metal pail and a littler plastic bucket... our goal is to fill the mall up!
And we're off!! We have a few good patches in mind...
Mmmm... this looks pretty good. The first blackberries are always the fattest and plumpest.
Oh yum... blackberry pie, jam, liqueur, syrup, strudel, crumble... did I mention pie?
Oh, and we brought Rose along!
That is one huge blackberry!
Sooo... yes... we did fill up the yogurt buckets (both of them) and we have almost filled this metal pail!
They are soooo yummy!
But we are all hot now... and the humans are not only hot... but sweaty and covered in blackberry juice sooo...
We did a trip to the river too!
We didn't go in the water though... nor did we have the good ship Rubbermaid... but we still had fun!
Berries AND Rose???? Yeah! What a fun outing!
ReplyDeleteOh yes!! All bears greatly pleased!
DeleteBerrying bears! Or bears a-berrying! Or something like that...
ReplyDeleteShould I assume there will be a blackberry baking/cooking post coming soon?
Berries for Bears? Or Bears for Berries? I think the berry processing pics were a no go... but there is blackberry liqueur stewing away in a jar!
DeleteBlackberries are so good fresh off the vine. Inquiring minds want to know where you can buy a gallon of yogurt at a time...
ReplyDeleteWe put them on yogurt too! with a little drizzle of maple syrup and a dash of crunchy granola.
Delete@LF - ah... Superstore!! The Real Canadian Superstore to be exact... a division of Loblaws... not sure any of that translates to the US!
Delete@J&B - oh, blackberries are good in many things. Yum!
