Tis Beary... er... Berry Season...

Sandy has heard lots about boo-berries and how yummy they are... but they were ready back in August and it is now October. So... no boo-berry pie for Sandy. But... it is still blackberry season! Which means we are on a blackberry hunt today! After yesterday's successful mushroom hunt, Sandy is gung-ho for a blackberry hunt but...

Hunting blackberries is a tad more involved than mushroom hunting. It involves a lot of thrashing through the brambles... because blackberries are beary fierce!! They have long thorns and poke little bears in the bum!

 But a bit of perseverance and some help from Mama... and Sandy has his first view of the elusive blackberry...

And this one is just luscious!! But... there aren't as many as there should be... which probably means that some other bears got here before Sandy! Which makes him go "Grrrrr..." until he realizes that these would be real wild bears. Hmmm... maybe it's time for Sandy to saunter out of here whistling a nonchalant little tune... dum-dee-dum... no bears here... nope...
