Mysterious Holes

Today little bear was walking along and almost fell down a hole! He was walking along, minding his own business, and not watching where he was going (of course). Looking around at the birds and the trees and... whoa! Almost down a hole!

Little bear bent down and looked into the hole but... it looked pretty deep, and it was a little tight for him to squirm into it and have a look. Who knows what might be down that hole too! It could be a monster! And there wasn't just one hole... there were many holes! There could be many monsters!

Little bear decided that discretion was the better part of valour and decided to put off figuring out the holes mystery until a later date. It was very cold out... it was windy... and there was snow on the ground. So... maybe whatever was down those holes was tucked up in bed somewhere. He decided he would wait... like he did with the bird houses.

Which is a good message for us as well. Sometimes we just need to wait. Better not to go racing into unknown situations. Better to sit and wait and see what might come. Not wait forever mind you. Because that isn't good either. Little bear isn't going to sit outside those holes and wait until something's going to happen. No, he's going to go about his life, but just keep an eye on the holes every once in a while and see what happens. Then he'll figure out what to do!
