Winter Adventures

Hello, Sandy Bear here... we had quite the adventure before Christmas. There was as nasty wind and rain storm that blew through on Dec 20 and... knocked out the power to a gazillion people (400,000). We lost power for 18 hours (which was minor!)... some people didn't get power back until Dec 30. We made the best of it...

We had battery operated twinkle lights on the tree... and lots of candles!

Although candles don't give off a lot of warmth... luckily I am a winter bear and am well-stocked for warm apparel!

Candles sure are pretty...

And I had a lot of stuffy pals over as well...

If that wasn't enough... the power outage did a number on the water treatment plant and fried some gizmo thingie... which meant we had limited treated water. No showers, no baths, no car washes, no dishes... and there was a run on bottled water in the stores... We had to put up signs on all the faucets otherwise we forgot!

Sooo... that was our pre-Christmas adventure... I obviously got a bit behind in my blog posts and am trying to catch up!

  1. Oh my! Power outages are no fun, especially when they affect the water supply. I hope you're back up and running now.

  2. Sorry to hear about the power. Did you cook on the camping stove while the power was out
