The Bow Street Police Museum and a Mischief of Mice!

Soooo... today... after some more archives work... we decided to visit the old Bow Street Magistrate's Court and Police Station!

It's a beary imposing building which just has the old facade. In behind the facade, it's all just a posh new hotel.

But this has been on Sherlock Sandy's bucket list for a while! So, glad we checked it off!

They have a whole swack of telephone booths as well!

And around the corner, they've preserved a tiny bit of the old police station in the museum...

Let's check it out!

Oooohh... this is the original prisoner dock from Courtroom 2! This is where prisoners would have stood or sat when they were in the court... kind of... like a cage... a bit.

Down here, they have some of the original police cells. People who were picked up for some crime (like stealing a bear's hot chocolate) would be held her before being brought before the magistrates in the neighbouring court section...

Hmmm... not a 5-Star hotel.... that's for sure...

The cells had write-ups of all sorts...

And I tried to imagine what it would have been like to have been stuck in here.

Most definitely not fun!

Well, that was interesting. It's a small museum, but beary educational! We learned all about the Bow Street Runners and some of the early policing units that were set up before the Metropolitan Police.

And now... we have to get a move on... but first...

Across the street is the Opera House. We went to have a look but it was so crowded with people... honestly... all these tourists!

But that's OK... we have to head back... We are having dinner with a Mischief of Mice!!

And... we found them!

We wandered down by the Thames and Beanie said this place was excellent!

It's Turkish food! So far, we've had Thai and Italian... we're doing pretty good for international cuisine!

Mmmm... wonder what I'll have?

We ordered and then had a group photo!

And Beanie had brought some stuff for the Geocaching!

Cool!!

We got another stiff drink... to help with our sore feet, you know.

Dinner was chicken shish kebabs. Seriously yum!

The Peroni was beary good too...

We were going to skip dessert but then... we saw it...

Dark... Chocolate... Brownie!!!

With chocolate sauce and ice cream!!

Of course we had to get it... and the Beanies convinced Andrea to get one too.

O.M.G. The brownie was warm!!!

While the mice were admiring their plate...

We inhaled ours!

Maybe they need help? They're awfully slow eaters... given there's four of them... and Andrea!

Beanie made it quite clear they were savouring...

Fine. It was beary yummy though!

Right, well that was a delicious dinner... and... Beanie... why are your ears so sad looking?

Oooohhhhkkkkkaaayyyy... Now you just look shocked!!! We said goodbye to Beanie & Co.... we have a big adventure planned for the next day!

Back at our pad... Andrea had given us a book about true crime! Excellent!

A friend of Mama's had given her the first 6 seasons of Foyles War on DVD! Cool... Sherlock Sandy loves a good mystery!

And... the geocaching prizes...

Well that'll keep us going for a while!!

Thanks Beanies!!

But there's one more thing!

A card... from the Harry Potter universe...

And another card... we think from the Cartoon Museum...

With a pound coin on the back! But not just any pound coin!

It's got King Charles III on the one side...

And bees on the other!!! King Charles is apparently big into saving the bees and bee-keeping and stuff...

Thanks Beanie & Co!!

More later!
