Sunrise Beach

Good morning! We got up super super early to catch the sunrise down at the beach. We've not been here before so let's check it out!

See that sign... "No fires allowed on beach"... remember it... we'll come back to it later.

Oh wow... that's a looottttt of stairs!

Carrying time?

Or maybe we can just slide down on the railing... ready, set....

Ahhh... wipe out!!! And serious butt burn...

OK... almost there!

Oh wow... this is pretty...

While we waited for the sun to come up, we poked around on the beach... lots of evidence of campfires and a bunch of garbage...

This looks like a storm drain outlet... betcha it gets a lot of water during the rainy season!

ooohh... what's that!?

There's even steps up from the beach. Let's go!

It's a scrappy little cabin with plywood for a roof...

Obviously a party spot...

With a ladder to the loft.

But the partiers had fires in here... that got a bit too big and it burnt through one of the support beams and the plywood floor of the loft!

So we're not going up here... but we had a peek nonetheless... never know, there might be treasure up here!

Further up.... there are some shipping containers on stilts... which is below a house that's up there. Maybe somebody's artist studio?

Cool... and... the sun is coming up!

We also found some interesting light grey boulders with fragments of volcanic rocks in them... Mama thinks it might be a pyroclastic tuff or some such thing.

So nice to sit in the sun...

Especially after we picked up a bunch of cans, bottles and garbage!

OK... now we just have to climb up the 100+ stairs... ugh! Are we there yet?

    1. Nope... it's private property... and we kind of thought it looked like a place where a kidnapper might live and stash their victim. Kind of like The Room... these stuffies have no desire to be stuffie-napped!

  4. Good job picking up the trash. Humans are very sloppy!
