Mouse Mail for Sherlock Sandy!

WE received some mail!!! It's obviously a Beanie Mouse letter...

Made out of an old shopping bag is my guess...

With all sorts of interesting stickers!

And old stamps too...

Oooh... fancy card inside!

The card was made by marbling nail polish! Rose would love to hear about that - her colours too!

By the way... Rose may (maybe) come at the end of June once school is out. Depends on our restrictions... paws crossed!

Ah-hah!! It's a prize in the ongoing Case of the Missing Bullion!

This is one the 400th Anniversary of Shakespeare coins...

Beanie said to read the inscription on the side of the coin and then google it.

... H... O... L...L...O... W.... Hollow!

... Crown!!

We googled that and there was a BBC thing called the Hollow Crown in 2012 during the Olympics!

Excellent!

But there's another card in the envelope too... These two look like they are at the theatre... see the little binoculars the guy has...

Yup... It's a Renoir called La Loge (Theatre Box). I have to investigate these things because you never know... they might be part of the clue!

Alright... let's get to the clue itself!

Let's see...
Return to the author with a wizarding connection (... that'd be Beatrix Potter!)
Who writes little stories with a mammalian collection (the Peter Rabbit stories!)
This coin shows one of prickles and spines (... hmmm... porcupine?)
A rat with thorns, peculiar design! Who is the character? (hmmm...)

Well... unlikely that it was a porcupine since they seem to be a North American thing (nope... there are some in southern Europe and Asia too!) but... how about a hedgehog... Is there a hedgehog critter in Beatrix Potter stories?

Why yes there is!! It's a 50p coin that has Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle on it!!

Case solved Beanie Moriarty!

  2. Another case in the books for Sherlock Sandy. My human and I love Renoir...in our opinion, he was the best at painting the human figure. Makes me wonder why he never painted dogs...
