Is that blue "real"?

It was a gorgeous day for a drive in the Rockies and with the sun shining... well, those lakes really strutted their stuff!
Sandy wasn't quite sure if the blue was "real" but he got a pretty good look at it... and it definitely is real.
Apparently, the colour is caused by pulverized rock flour in the water (from the glaciers grinding the rocks) and the rock flour reflects the blue-green colour spectrum.
This lake is Peyto Lake - beary famous and on beary many post cards!
But no post cards have such a cute little bear posing in them!

  3. @Buttons - thanks! I think they should hire me to pose in postcard pictures... like that ground squirrel that went viral a while back when he popped into some tourist's picture at Lake Minnewanka (where is that url...) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crasher_Squirrel
