This beach has lots of sand dollars at low tide... we didn't got all the way out but did find a broken sand dollar.
Cool!
There are lots of cool ripple marks in the sand.
Whew... finally made it to a patch of water! The tide was coming in so we had to scamper back a bit.
And here is one of them! Isn't this a super cool piece of driftwood log?
It has a beary interesting weathering pattern...
It's an operculum!! Hmmm... some seashells have little doors that cover their openings, to protect the occupant. So this is a seashell door! Best guess based on shape and size is a Moon Shell operculum.
Cool trip to the beach, I hope to go to the coast this weekend too. It's supposed to be about 65 degrees this weekend.
ReplyDeleteNice! Is that warm? I know that 70 F is about 20 C so that sounds pretty warm. I think we are getting up to 14 C this week!
DeleteBeach?!? Sunny hike?!? Ocean?!? Grumble, grumble. We had more snow last night. Jerry is wearing his gardening outfit and shaking his fist at the window. Beautiful beach photos! We love the ocean. Your'e so lucky to live so close.
ReplyDeleteSnow?? Oh, you poor bears! I remember what that feels like. Especially when your blogger pals are posting spring pics!
DeleteI think Ben needs to make Jerry some calming herbal tea.
ReplyDeleteWith lots of honey...
DeleteWe're digging out of the snow again here, too...
ReplyDeleteOh dear... have you tried making a snowdog?
