An Outing to the Islands

Oh boy!! I am going on an outing today!! We drove in the truck... wonder where we are going?? Oh, it's a ferry terminal!

It's beary foggy out this morning... but I know where we are going!

Somewhere out there in the fog... it is out there...

The island where I spent five months last winter!! We are going for a visit...

And the fog cleared up... it's so nice to see blue sky again.

These are some derelict boats in the harbour.

They had snow too... but their snow drops look like they survived OK... I hope mine do too!

Ooohhh... crocuses...

And daffodils! There was a bee snooping around the daffodils but she took off as soon as I showed up. I think she didn't want me to follow her back to the hive!

Time for some breakfast... let's see... do I want over-easy eggs with toast, sausage and potatoes...

Or green eggs and ham (scrambled eggs with basil pesto and ham), plus potatoes and toast. Hmmm...

I think I'll hold out for some honey and just enjoy the view...

It is nice and warm in the sunshine...

Well... that was a good visit! There was lots of shopping but I just napped in the truck... shopping can be boring for a little bear. But... when we got home I learned that someone had bought something for me!! For me!! As a reward for all my hard contractor supervision.

I wonder if it's honey... or salmon...

Nope... doesn't smell like food... phooie...

Wait a minute!! What's this... could it be???

IT IS!!! It's my beary own little door!!! Someone on the island makes them but when I was there we couldn't find a single one for sale! Oooh.... It is Beanie Blue and Hammie Red!! With a wooden door that I could paint with something....

Ohhhhh... it is perfect for me!!

I is such a lucky bear!! Thanks to anntee for buying it! Now I just have to post pictures of the kitchen so y'all can see why I got rewarded so awesomely!

  1. What a great door! You can add a little sign with your name on it! We're glad your wore your warm coat too; it still can get beary chilly in the spring!

    1. It was a tad chilly out... my hoodie would not have been warm enough. Mama says if I'm going to paint my door, I need to take up toll painting... I'm not sure what that is... I hope it doesn't cost money, like in a toll-booth!

    2. That will be one fancy door! We hope you get to include a DO NOT DISTURB sign that you can hang on the door handle when you are sleeping or hibernating!

  3. I would have thought the boat trip and honey would be enough to thank you for the great supervision job on the construction site. You showed good manners not eating your humans breakfast (I don't have the will power; those Egg dishes looked beary good).

The little door is sooo cool and an awesome thank you gift. I looked up tole painting, it seems neat, I think you will be a good at it. Do you have a theme for the door yet?

    1. Well... if breakfast had been honey-on-toast, I woulda fought tooth and nail for it! But eggs... meh...

The door is my-most-wished-after-thing from the island! The cottage we stayed at last winter had a little door just like it and I've been coveting one ever since. I think the door should have flowers... to attract bees!

    2. Or you could paint a beehive on it to make bees come and make honey right where you live!!!

    3. Oh that would be cool too!! It's too bad you couldn't just pop over here and help since you are a painter-extrordinaire!

  4. Ben says he wishes those little doors were magic doors, so that he could open it, go through, and magically be a Sandy's house, or Beanie's house, etc., etc.

    1. Now, that is a brilliant idea! Sort of like a transporter door. I can see Ben's going to have a science channel on the stuffie network as well!

  5. Ohh that is a great idea Ben. Do you know any inventors who could make that happen? I would also like the same inventor to clone my roomates so the clone could go to work for them and then my roommates and I could go adventuring.

    1. I like that idea!! So often us stuffies have to sit around kicking our heels waiting and waiting and waiting while the humans do "important" human things. Sigh.

    2. We wish that door did exist. If we run out of honey or hot chocolate, we could just pop over to Sandy's, or Little Fox's, or Adjins's house.

  7. First we all need little doors... this one doesn't look that hard to make... and then we sprinkle some pixie dust on it... and poof... I'll be in Holland!

  8. Oohhh... I don't know about that! I think Tinkerbell has some but she only appears in the movies!
