Sometimes you have to wonder at a little bear! The things that Sandy comes up with and the connections that he makes are comical. He was out for a bike ride and found some beautiful flowers...
They are called... anenomes... er... anemomes... anen... amen....amenomes... oh shoot... Sandy's having trouble with these flowers! They sure are beautiful though - yellow centres and white petals. Sandy thinks they should be called "egg flowers" because they look like a sunny-side up egg!
He'd love to pick a bouquet and take them home, but Mama says they don't make good cut-flowers and wouldn't last very long. Plus it's hard to carry bouquets of flowers on a bike. Unless you live in Holland and have a big basket on the front (or the back). Sandy was a tad sad and carried on with his bike ride and saw some more flowers in the distance... but they were just dandlion puffs...
Although... when Sandy stopped and had a closer look... there were some different flowers tucked in amongst the dandelion puffs!
Those are definitely different... and... they are beautiful too!
These are daisies! Much easier to pronounce than... amenomenes... (darn!)... These daisies could also be classified as "egg flowers" because they also have yellow centres with white petals... but Sandy can pronounce "daisy" so he'll call them that.
And daisies do make great cut-flowers! But... the bike-without-a-basket problem is still plaguing Sandy so... he's figured out a way to take a flower home another way!
What a debonair little bear with a boutonnière!
Great pictures! I love flowers and i like to lounge among them.
ReplyDeleteHello Sandy, what a cute lil fella you are! I love your outfit.
ReplyDeleteDear little Sandy-Bear, I really enjoy reading about your adventures!
ReplyDeleteVery nice flowers Sandy. It's a good thing you don't have hay fever. Looks like you had a nice bike ride.
ReplyDeleteIt must be getting warmer where you live by now. It's been downright HOT here. We had a bad storm go through this afternoon. My buddies and me had to go to the basement. We have no electricity, well only what's coming from the generator.
If there are egg flowers, do you have bacon, jam and toast flowers too so that you have a full breakfast? (hehe)
ReplyDelete@Buttons - Do you live where there are tornadoes?? Those are very scary! We've had some emergency announcements come on the TV and radio sometimes. Very scary! I hope you and your friends stay safe!
ReplyDelete@Jerry and Ben - There could be bacon flowers out there somewhere! Hee-hee!!
@Sullivan - Yes, flowers are very beautiful and are fun to lounge in... except for the rose bushes. There is no fun in picking thorns out of my little bear bum!
ReplyDelete@Lynda (Granny K) - Thank you! I like my outfit too which is why I wear it ALL the time!
I have trouble with the animimimninimony word too!!
ReplyDeleteNo kidding... it's almost like alum.. aluminum... aluminium... alumnim... whatever!
