Road Trip Home

It's time to head home again on a very long road trip. Sandy actually doesn't mind as long as he can get out every once in a while to explore for new flowers. Today he stopped at Mount Robson in the Rockies... It usually has its head in the clouds but today... it was pretty clear!
Mount Robson is the highest mountain in the Canadian Rockies but Sandy wasn't too interested in that. He had found some new flowers!! Beautiful purple flowers...
They are called Lupines and these ones are very very tall (far taller than a little bear)...
At least these flowers are not covered in spit bugs. Mama says they could be covered in aphids (icky) but a close inspection reveals no aphids.
There are even some pinky coloured lupines...
Well, they are sort of still purple but more a reddish tone of purple than a blueish tone. Sandy is becoming quite an expert on lupines.
He wants to know if he can pick some to take home but... that is too far away and the lupine would be all wilted by then. Just before leaving... Sandy finds some white lupines!! They aren't quite as big as the other ones but they are very pretty too...
This was a great stop on the trip and Sandy is so pleased to have found some new flowers. Maybe he will become a flower-ologist when he grows up!

  1. Beautiful pictures Sandy! I love how in the first one the lupines look nearly as tall as the pine trees. Looks like while you have an eye for flowers, mommy has a photographers eye.
