Stuffie General Contractors Inc.

Hello... we have been beary beary busy the last week or so... let's start at the beginning...

We are cooking a BIG pot of split pea and ham soup today...

Yep... a beary big pot... but...

There is no need for a drool alert cause that's it for the food shots! Why are we cooking a big pot of soup?? Good question... we need to stock up easy to reheat food because....

Handy Sandy and Little Fox, Construction Supervisor have a BIG project to oversee!!

See this kitchen? It was built in the mid-1970s and... it's time for it to go!

It's a beary long story... it started with the idea of a new counter top (for $1000) and... then went to new cabinets (out of the box) and then to slightly (!!!) more expensive cabinets (semi-custom) and... then it was stainless steel appliances... including a dishwasher and... well, you know how it goes. ($$$$$)

We went for a white shaker-style look... classic...

But in the meantime... the house looks kind of... upside down...

Boxes everywhere... and the kitchen cabinets have been emptied...

Into the spare room which looks a bit like a thrift store or a garage sale... whew!! Can you even see us?

Sooo... here's your last look at the kitchen... because tomorrow... the boys are coming to help tear out the old ones!

There they are!! Henry and Dale used to flip houses and... man... they can work.

There were a few stubborn screws but...

It all got handled... and it only took two hours!!

We made sure that the crew got some lunch (split pea with ham...)...

And there we go... no kitchen (can you see us?)...

And the boys took away the old cabinets too (they are using them in their garage)... eco-friendly... that's us!

But there's still a fair bit of work to be done before the new cabinets can get installed (in a couple of days!)... Some of those walls need to get patched and painted...

Good thing Handy Sandy and Little Fox, Construction Supervisor are on the job...

To be Continued

  1. Stuffies are such natural supervisors aren't they? Glad to see you are taking care of the crew working on your kitchen. Happy workers = less stress

    1. Definitely taking care of the crew... humans work harder if they know they are getting fed... It is a big responsibility for us stuffies though.
