Sandy's Halloween-Themed Treat

 Hullo!! I am making a treat for Halloween!!!

First we mix a bunch of this together...

And add a bunch of this...

And then... we mix it all with pumpkin seeds and...

Pop it in the oven!!

Then, we are doing this one...

This is caramel nut bark which is super easy...

All we need is...

Bakers unsweetened chocolate (or half and half with the red bakers box - which is sweetened).

Put it in a bowl...

Nuke in the microwave until it melts...

Add in some chopped up dates...

And chopped up nuts... we used brazil nuts...

Spread it out on some parchment paper and chill!

How's the pumpkin seed thing going?

They are ready!!!

Sandy's 2024 Halloween Costume

 Noooo... I don't like that...

Yes!! That one... that's perfect!!! Get me half a metre!

Hah-hah!!! I have some fabric for my Halloween costume! This is for Jerry & Ben's annual Halloween Contest! It's hard doing shopping at a distance but when Mama said she was at Fabricland, I made her check for me and... bingo!

Now... to dig out the sewing supplies... sparse though they may be! 

First... we used a piece of clothing to mark out a rough pattern. This is "rough"... not Gramma's style of sewing at all... but we are doing it without Gramma... so rough it is!

Excellent... now we just sew the two pieces together...

Like... hand sewing... because this is sequins you know...

Getting there. Mama is not the fastest sewer in the world and sequins are not the easiest thing to sew!

Speaking of sequins... 

This fabric is shedding sequins everywhere!!!

Will have to vacuum later!

OK, all sewed up and now... we just turn it inside out and have a sequin tunic!

Well... not really... you'll see... keep watching!

Now... oooff... head hole might be a tad small!!!! We just put... oof... it on!

Ugh... I'm exhausted... needs a bigger head hole! But not bad!

Now we just need a white thingie... good thing we have old sheets from the bearbnb... And then... some embellishments and tweaking...

Ta-dah!!!!!!! It's my St. George (and/or Crusader) costume!!!!!

Seeeeee... the sequins are like chain mail!

And... since every knight needs a horse...

Obsidian got dolled up too!!!

Tally-ho!!! Onwards trusty steed...

It works good with the hood off too...

But wait... there is one thing missing!! Back to the drawing board...

First up... some stiff cardboardy stuff...

And we got a pattern and did a cut-out...

Can you tell what it is?

A red felt pen and a silver felt pen and... a holder on the back and...

I have my shield!!!

Not bad, not bad at all!

Now... if only we had a dragon handy. But I asked Rose and she vehemently denied that she knew any dragons. Hmph... Hello? Like... Kiwi is a dragon! But no... she is not volunteering her dragon for slaying. Sigh...

So we took some photos... ran them through Canva to remove the background and...

We have a dragon needing slaying!!!
