Beaches of the West Coast

Well... to continue our interrupted road trip... we drove down the coast a ways and headed for China Beach. I think this is beary appropriate since we also visited China Beach in Vietnam!!

The trail wasn't beary long or steep... hurry up people!

Oooh... I think we are almost there!!

Yes!!! I see ocean!!!

Oh boy, oh boy...

Wow... like... wow....

This is awesome!

There are kelp beds offshore and lots of kelp gets washed up. The water looks so inviting...

Maybe I should take a dip?

Hmmm... waves... not good... By the way, that's the Olympic Peninsula in the distance in Washington State. I wonder if Little Fox has been there?

I'll just try it with the tippy-toe of my bear claw... and... it is beary cold!!! Mama says it is ankle-numbing cold! No wonder surfers wear wet suits up at Long Beach... brrrr... not like China Beach in Vietnam at all!

But the kelp is nice...

Sooo... it was a long day and... Mama said we were doing things "spontaneously"... uh-huh... Miss Trip Advisor and spontaneity do NOT go together...

Anyhow... after a bit of searching, the humans realized that places down here go for $250 a night... plus tax!!! Ridiculous! I thought we could head back home but... first we had a picnic dinner...

Mmmm... hummus, sausage rolls, veggies, bbq salmon and a variety of other nibbles from the local grocery store. I approve!!

Sooo... are we leaving now??? What do you mean, "No"??????

OK... the humans have lost it... they have decided to camp out in the back of the SUV... they even bought some sheets... (seriously... snowflakes in September???)

And an inflatable mattress... oh boy...

Ummmmm... sure... this looks like fun... uh-huh... Do you think they are pulling my leg???

Oh great, now the sun is setting... I think they are serious!!

Wish me luck stuffies...

  3. Think of it this way... if they save money by camping, then that's more salmon fillet for you

  4. I have been to the Olympic peninsula many times. Camping looks like a lot of fun too. I wish we could get sausage rolls in our grocery stores. Sigh.
