Indiana Sandy explores another Archaeological Dig

It has been a busy week around our place. Mama was busy working in the garden creating another garden bed along the back fence...

I don't know if you remember... but for the past year, a pile of spare wood has sat on that spot, covered by tarps. What with all the building going on, those wood pieces have all been used up! Finally! It was a bit of an eyesore and a Chinese Triad Rat Gang hangout... but now it's gone!

So, in that blank, grassless space... it was decided to create another bed... perhaps for raspberries! A little bear can definitely get behind that plan. As with most digging projects in our yard, there were, of course, a certain number of archaeological artifacts unearthed.

A bit of rusted chain, a toy screw driver, an action figure, some green handled clippers, a seahorse thingie.... and...

This mysterious object!

Yes... it is what you think it is... a bullet for a rifle of some sort.

I really DO hope that whoever lived here way back when didn't leave any unexploded grenades lying around. Seriously! The way pushes the shovel into the ground... that could end in disaster! I really do not know what to make of the people who lived here previously... cowboy plumber hunters with kids?

A few landscape ties later and... we have us a garden bed!

Now, we just have to root out some raspberries to plant here. It might be a bit late for that - so that might have to wait until the fall... But in the meantime, there are a few flowers looking for a home!

    1. Yes they do... I am beginning to think that perhaps all of these artifacts are old pack-rat stashes. You know how rats love to nest. Mind you, the previous owner says that she found WAY more stuff so maybe the previous, previous owners were just beary messy!

  3. The new garden spot looks good Sandy. We're not sure about the mysterious object, we'll have to ask around. We have some raspberries too--they make great jam!

    2. Oh, and best if the muffins are warm out of the oven, and spread with a little butter.

  4. The new garden looks great. Perhaps you should open a farm stand for all of the fresh veggies and fruits you will have. When you open the stand up let us know so we can place our orders.

    1. Someone else in the house has had that idea too! We'll see...

Shall I put you down for beets or carrots?

    2. Great minds clearly think alike. Put us down for carrots, they probably ship better :)

    3. I'll see what I can do... I don't know if border services will allow carrots across the border.
