Waiting patiently...

Happy 600th Posting!

Hullo bears and not-a-bears... I have been waiting beary patiently for our rhododendron bush to bloom... and thought I would follow one flower for a while...

Day 1 - not much happening...

Day 2  - Oh!!! I see a bit of pink!

Day 3 - and more...

Day 4 - a full flower has come out!

Day 5 - and more are coming!

Day 9 - hmph... missed a few days and look... the whole thing is in full bloom.

Tah-dah! They sure are pretty shrubs!

Post-script
I came across this picture of a 125+ year old rhododendron "bush" in Ladysmith... oooh...

  1. Congratulations on 600 postings, you have had lots of adventures over the years. Do you have a favorite adventure?

Rhododendrons are some of my favorite trees/plants. They seem to need no work and have such amazing blooms. A couple of years ago on the Southern Oregon Coast my roommates took me hiking and there were a ton of wild Rhododendrons – interesting they were all pink flowers (compared to the city ones I see that are all colors, fox orange, hammie red etc.)

    1. Thanks Little Fox! A favourite adventure?? I know that I have favourite adventures which usually involve hiking!

Rhododendrons are beary beautiful. I've seen pictures of the rhododendron groves in Oregon - I want to go there some day and see them for real. We have 4 bushes - two are pink, one is white and one is turning out to be a burgundy red... beary pretty. I added a pic of a rhodo "tree" from Ladysmith - it is taller than the house!

  3. Congratulations on 600 posts! You have been blogging for a beary long time. I am just up to my 60th post or so. My mom would like to know how you keep yourself so clean after so many adventures. She has to give me frequent baths to stay clean. :)

    1. Yup, but I only started in 2010 (I think). My first year, I was trying to post one adventure a day so there was 365 right away! It was beary hard though... beary hard. As for keeping clean... that is a beary good question... my t-shirt gets washed every once in a while... as for the rest of it... The first year (and more), I just wore my winter outfit with the green puffy coat and it is looking decidedly dingy... so maybe that's it... I have more outfits to wear?? You need to get your Mom to find you some more clothes!
