Mission for Bear-in-a-Hood

Well, spring is well started here and today I went down to the old burned out house property that is all overgrown with brambles. This used to be a fence, but now it is a good little bear perch!

I was here a few weeks ago and saw leaves that looked like bulbs... and sure enough... there are bulbs here - little grape hyacinths.

And daffodils too! Daffodils grow EVERYWHERE here - on roadside, in ditches, vacant land.

Hmmm.. it looks like somebody has dug up some bulbs here before... there are holes everywhere.

And some holes didn't go deep enough and they just left the chopped off bulb tops... hmmm

Some of these plants just look green and leafy but...

If you look beary close - you'll see a flower coming!

There are so many daffodils here! I wonder if maybe we could bring some home!

Heh-heh... It was a job for Bear-in-a-Hood... one dark morning... These are the irises that were dumped in the forest... I am going to adopt the!

And some daffodils too... It was beary cool that morning....These poor daffodils were surrounded by brambles...

    1. It seems like you just had deep snow and now flowers are coming! Spring sure arrives quickly in your neck-of-the-woods.

    2. Well, it was beary cold this morning, and now the mean weather guy on tv says there may be snow north of us tomorrow! NO! Only a cup of hot chocolate helped Jerry to calm down. Ben doesn't think we'll get any snow here. We don't think Mother Nature is beary funny this year...

  3. Just one "old" clump of daffodills so far. In fact it is snowing this beary minute, 2"'s grrrr!
However, looks like all the hard bulb planting mom did last fall was successful.
Soon the yard will be full of tulips and daffodils. If this snow ever stops!

  4. Bear-in-a-hood.....Sandy are you providing covert services as bear-in-a-hood? I have some pesky cats in my back yard that maybe you could help me steer in the direction of another yard. Is that something bear-in-a-hood services can handle?

    1. Oh... pesky cats... yes... well, we have those too and nothing seems to stop them from doing their business in my garden! I have heard that coyote pee can help with that... apparently you can buy it in a bottle??

    2. I'm guessing Bob T. Bear might know about pee in a bottle... By the way, where is Bob T. Bear?

    3. Bob probably knows how to get a coyote to pee into a bottle too!

Beanie says Bob and his family are doing well but Bob's mum forgot his blog's password!
