Into the Sky

Today we are off to see some of Kuala Lumpur's most impressive buildings. Not the one in the background... that's just a regular old building...

No, today Sebastian took me to the Petronas Towers! They are two towers that were the tallest in the world from 1998 to 2004. The tallest point if 1483 feet... which is beary tall!

They have a model of the towers inside... these ones look more bear sized...

This is what they look like from a distance... Sebastian said that the foundation of the towers is the deepest in the world at 374... that would be one deep hole!

Oh my goodness.... we took one of the 78 elevators up to the viewing platform... it is on the bridge that connects the two towers - you can see the bridge in the photo above...

We're not even up at the top yet! Ahhh... and Sebastian said that the bridge is not really anchored to either tower but rather slides in and out of them as they each sway in the wind... uh-huh... that doesn't sound beary secure to me!

Oh... and now we are going up even higher in one of the towers...

Wow... that is quite the view!!

That pinnacle tower in the background is the Kuala Lumpur Tower... it is only 1381 feet tall... only...

Whew... I think little bears get a bit dizzy looking down on the world from 1400 feet elevation... And the building does sway a bit in the breeze... hmmm... not feeling beary good at the moment... better to just have a seat and wait until we can go back down!

  1. Wow that is a beary tall building. Do they offer parachute tours off the building? That could be a fun adventure for you and Sebastian. I hear hot chocolate and fresh berries helps with motion sickness from swaying buildings.

    1. Oh, parachute tours!! We didn't see anything like that and Sebastian thought they didn't have that (yet!). Hot chocolate is a cure-all for many things!

  2. Oh gosh, we hope you didn't have to take the stairs, that would be a BEARY lot of steps for a little bear!

    1. That is WAY too many steps for a little bear... and even for a human... we took the super-fast express elevator where your stomach ends up either in your shoes or in your throat... I almost felt like I was going to go into zero-G!

    1. Oh the humans are loving the local food - curries and the like... but nary a candied salmon chunk to be found... although the honey is quite tasty!
