Mail Call

I got mail (a few days ago). This card came from Beanie! It is from the British Museum and shows Pompeii. Thanks Beanie!!

I also got my credencials and patch for hiking the Camino de Santiago de Compostela... a long way of saying that pilgrimage route through Northern Spain!

Mama even has a book about it... which she bought a few years ago... but apparently we are going to do this within the next year or two. And of course I will go! I am a great little hiker bear... Eh?... Mama says it's 800 kilometers!!! What??!! Mmmm... I guess I'll be hitching a ride in Mama's backpack for part of the way!

  1. Oh what fun - another hike - you will have fun for sure. Congratulations on getting your patch for your last one - will you get a back pack to sew it on?

  2. Wow, that will be a long hike Sandy! We have a friend who does that hike from time to time. We'd do it too, provided we get to ride in a comfortable backpack complete with little jars of honey and juice boxes, hehe

  3. @JoAnn - Thanks - I haven't actually done the hike yet... we had to get the credencials and patch ahead of time... but now I am ready for it whenever it comes!

@Jerry & Ben - Oh, I hadn't thought about asking for a comfortable backpack!! I think I should have a little sedan chair up top with a side table stocked with honey pots. That would be excellent!

  4. A sedan chair would be perfect....but we think our human companions would just laugh and say "right, dream on".

  5. Oooh, now G. is jealous! It's her biggest dream to do a path like that! But I don't think she'll be able to do that one... She wants to start by finishing the Pieterpath here in The Netherlans. But first the path we are doing now, that is still three days walk and a two days walk. The Pieterpath goes from the north of holland to the south.

  6. @Jerry & Ben - Hmmm... our human companions need to become more bear-sensitive I think!

@Hammie - I know!! Mama has been wanting to do this for a long time so we are taking little baby steps first. Get the Credencial... check! Get the patch... check! Learn Spanish... hmmmm.... have to work on that one! All hikes can be a preparation for this one!

  7. Beary true Sandy, but Ben got a good one in. Papa was saying he'd been to Europe several times, in fact even before he started to take care of two little bears, and Ben asked "Oh, like in the Meedle Aguss?" Then he and Jerry giggled. Not everyone thought that was so funny.... "Meedle Agus..." repeats Ben...

  8. @Jerry & Ben - "Meedle Agus"!!! Oh that's a good one!! At least Ben didn't go so far as to refer to the Dark Ages! Little bears have a snappy sense of humour sometimes...
