Missed the Harvest

Well, having been away so much in the last little while, Sandy has missed the harvest! We was all gung-ho to see waving fields of wheat and rye and barley and oats... but...
All that is left in the fields is stubble!
Oh wait... what's that?? That looks like some sort of grain!
That could be... wheat? Or maybe rye? The combiner left a little bit behind...
Enough for a little bear to be happy that he saw at least some of the harvest!

  1. We love fall, with all the harvests, beautiful fall leaves, and lots of apples and pumpkins. Although, we also do have to say that we get a lot, A LOT, of Canadian tourists passing through...they relax on the lawns, nibble on corn and grain in the fields, and say "honk, honk" before they fly up into the air and continue their journey south. We ask as many of them as possible if they know our pal Sandy, but we don't speak goose so we think they must not understand us.

  2. Oh those guys... they come in a human form as well that we call Snow Birds... they head south around this time of year too, nibbling at Macdonald's along the way and heading for Florida and Arizona and California. It takes a "real" Canadian to stay here for the winter! Like me... a little bear who is ready for the cold and snow!

  3. Well, we bears are tough, our fur coats, and green coats and cool Russian-looking hats, help too! Although Jerry and Ben do tend to be a little more sleeping in the winter...we can't tell if that is because of all the hot chocolate Papa makes us at night, or if it is because we are bears and supposed to be sleeping more.

  4. Well, it does get darker in the winter and everybody wants to seem to hibernate... and get chubby!

  5. Hehe, well, we can get unchubby once spring is here and we can run around outside!
