Bear Beachcomber

Sandy was up with the sun this morning to explore this little part of Mexico!
The sunrise was gorgeous but it sure heated up quickly!
This stretch of the beach is famous for its sea turtles. There are also tonnes of turtle nests around. They look a bit like a grave... but are really not...
All along the beach, there is stuff that has been washed up by the waves. Here is a bit of seaweed.
And after a bit of hunting, Sandy found a variety of interesting things...
There is a branch coral, some mound corals, a little sea urchin shell and then some sea shells at the end.
This little thing is very strange though. It looks sort of like an acorn but way bigger! Maybe the mystery will resolve itself this week...
Oh, here's a pretty mural that shows the turtles and some fishies... and is that a sting ray at the upper left??
Whew... that was a busy start to the day... Now it's time to relax on the loungers and get a suntan! Pale Canadian bear skins need a bit of sun!

  1. Wonderful photos Sandy! But, do tell your mom that you need a different outfit--a winter jacket and fur hat are too warm for Mexico! What about a nice tropical outfit?

Jerry would like Papa to order an outfit like that for him, so we could match! Hehe

  2. I know... I am melting!! Mama says the Starbucks Store only ships to the US... not Canada. (Grumble, grumble) She has even been searching ebay.ca for a fetching outfit for me but no luck so far... sigh.

  3. Just a tad overdressed there Sandy. You must be so hot. Maybe you could just loose the jacket and hat.

Have fun, and remember not to have too many of those fancy drinks with the umbrellas. I'd go for the ones with salt on the rim of the glass.

    1. Oooh... that's a very tempting idea! Mama will have to think about it and we'll see once the dust settles!

  5. Jerry and Ben were playing a game in the living room, when Ben heard a voice on tv say "...continuing live coverage of Sandy..." and Ben jumped up and ran to the tv and pointed at it saying "Sandy! Sandy!" Papa had to tell him that the story was about the super storm Sandy that was hitting the east coast of the U.S., not a story about our super Canadian pal Sandy...Ben was not very happy about that, but he eventually went back to playing the game with Jerry.

    1. I'm famous! Or infamous as the case may be...

      "Sandy storms New York"...
"Sandy wreaks havoc in New Jersey"...
"Sandy leaves at least 10 dead..."
      "Sandy slams US East Coast..."

      Sorry Ben!!

  6. Yes, but those titles are only good when Sandy is dressed in the spooky Halloween Costume, then the titles make for a great horror film!
